Great
Provided an excellent foundation for information on all of the Ancient Greek myths. I really enjoyed it. I would definitely recommend it.

Don't bother
It was not a very descriptive book nor tell me much about anything but I did like the pictures so I wouldn't read it if I was looking to learn about Greek and Roman gods.

Heroes of Olympus is an exiting, turn of events
Heroes of Olympus is an exiting turn of events with greek gods, monsters, challenges, and a camp that is in danger. A boy named Percy Jackson has lost his memory, he beliefs he is Jason and thats all he knows. He is soon to find out that he is a half blood, but who would create magic this powerful to loose his memory. Why? Read to find out!

Nothing but the facts
This guy cannot tell a story, and manages to make Greek mythology sound like nothing but ignorant superstition - and boring superstition at that, with nothing but a lot of disconnected facts.I would have liked an Introduction explaining in what written form these myths originated, and a direct translation of a few. What were his sources? As it stands, this book is meaningless and boring.

Not appropriate
Why would you want your kids to read about Greek Gods forcing themselves upon women?

Age rating inappropriate
The age rating for this book is published as 8 to 12 years, which is completely inappropriate. Perhaps the level of difficulty is correct, but due to the mature content, it should probably be rated for sixth graders and higher. My ten year old daughter has really enjoyed the Rick Riordan books and is eager to learn more greek mythology. So, she began reading Heroes of Olympus by Philip Freeman after it was given to her as a gift. A few chapters in, she brought the book to me to ask whether I thought she should be reading the book, since she kept reading about the greek gods forcing themselves on women. Please reconsider the age rating, so parents can help their children find appropriate reading material for their ages.

Heroes of Olympus
I enjoyed this book and found it a pretty good read, covering all the major the Greek Myths (including Jason), as well as the Roman stories, such as Aeneas and Lucretia, stories not usually included in ‘mythology books’, which mainly focus on just the Greek tales.Freeman tells the stories well, and the book is a nice update, or alternative, to Edith Hamilton’s classic retellings, which, comparing the two, seems rather more wordy to Freeman’s more succinct approach to the stories; though both books are very good, each in their own way complementing one anotherRecently, I read Freeman’s book on Alexander the Great, which was also very good.I hope you find my review helpful.

it's okay
it is a long read if you try to read the whole thing in one go, but I wanted to learn some of the stories of the Greek mythology.for that this book is really good and there are a lot of stories of minor gods and not so known heroes.this book will be good if you have to write a paper about a Greek god or hero.you can pick it up any time because there is little connection between the stories. that means you can pick your god or hero and just read about that person.
