Wino Wine Key! - Professional Sommelier's Corkscrew Wine Opener

I use this thing several times a week--and have for a long time now. It does the job: opens the wine. The construction is solid. No wobbling joints. The corkscrew part appears to have stayed sharp. I like the 2-part lever style a lot. Not all wine keys have that. When you've got an older bottle with a really stuck-in-there cork, that's handy. I'd buy this again.

I had been opening bottles of wines for over 20 years, using more or less the standard waiter’s wine key in its different iterations. One time I scored a really fancy heavy duty wine key from a French wine educator for paying attention in her master class, and I realized that some wine keys were built better than others. That wine key was very similar to this one here. That special wine key became a topic of conversation often whenever I went to open a bottle and guests notice the special key. I ended up working in a Michelin restaurant after Covid, and much to my surprise, my boss there one day asked to borrow that wine key because she needed to help open wine at a table. My wine key was never to be seen again. Now that over a year has passed I felt mentally ready to replace my prized wine key. I picked this one in jade green and stainless steel. The key has got weight behind it, which I love. I was raving about the key to some somms, and I was given a bottle to test it out. As expected, it was smooth as butter when performing. The worm (or helix) is nice and sharp, doesn’t make any noise (some corks are squeaky), and the blade is serrated and cuts the foil easily. The boot levers make the cork pull motion effortless, and I popped open that bottle in virtually no time at all. If you’re looking for something that’s heavier duty and a bigger visual bang, this is the perfect wine key. For those who may be inexperienced in opening wine, or are accustomed to the standard waiters wine key, you may need to practice opening a few dummy bottles to get used to the extra weight (and also the bulkier handling), but this thing is a beast and I highly recommend.

I work in a wine cellar and needed a new wine key. This one is very beautiful. "Flashy" as our sommelier describes it. It's very sturdy and the knife is perfectly sharp. My only issues with it is that the double hinge doesn't actually adjust.
