Pinnacle 56-inch TV Stand from Nexera - Black

This is just what I needed for my stereo components. It looks great and accommodated my needs well. My TV is wall-mounted above this but I needed a place for stereo, DVR, Blu-ray player, and turntable. This was perfect, though some modifications were in order.First, the desk is well-packaged. It was delivered in the rain and was torn badly so I expected to have to return it but contents were well protected and undamaged. Assembly requires some work but all parts fit well. The adjustable door hinges are great, really necessary for this type door that extends this much. I had to adjust them a time or so after construction but no big problem. Doors will only open 90 degrees so don’t plan to leave them open, or if so just remove them.I love that you can barely see the components with the doors closed except for the lights that stand out. There are three possible heights for the center shelves. More heights would have been good, but it may affect the appearance if shelves weren’t even with the glass cross bars. Pins prevent the shelves from moving back, allowing about 3” for wiring and air flow. There is no hole between the two sides however, requiring cables to be run out the back and over.With the shelves in the center location there is about 9" height on the bottom and 10" on the top. I have one shelf at the lowest notch to allow 11" for my turntable on the top shelf. I mounted the turntable preamp to the back of the shelf.It would have been nice if the top extended a couple of inches past the back to allow it to sit closer to the wall to accommodate baseboards, outlets, wiring, etc. Due to mounting components on the wall and on the back of the unit mine sits about 4” from the wall. I could rearrange some to reduce this but plan on at least 2”.I’m very pleased with this unit. While I would have liked a few changes I feel this is a 5-star product.Modifications: If interested, I made a few mods to meet my needs. I discarded the back (cardboard with punch-out holes) and used two pieces of hardboard (Masonite) painted black, one on each side, attached with small wood screws for easy access. I mounted a dual fan unit ( AC Infinity AIRPLATE S7, Quiet Cooling Fan System 12" with Speed Control, for Home Theater AV Cabinets ) to the back of the unit (not to the hardboard) with fans reversed to blow into the cabinet and a  DEMCiflex Radiator Dust Filter, Standard Double 120mm, Black Frame, Black Mesh  to keep the inside dust free. The fans are powered through my receiver usb port so they are on when the receiver is on. For air flow and cable routing I drilled a 2” hole through the vertical center piece. I also notched the bottom of the back panels for cable routing, allowing the back to be removed without disturbing the wires. I mounted a few components to the back of the hardboard (12-outlet surge protector, RF amp, etc) and even beneath the unit to keep the look clean.

This decently large black tv stand caught my eye for price and style. For less than $250.00, it seemed like the right choice. It arrived 1 week after ordering and in good shape. It was missing a piece for the glass to be installed on the doors. They give you a phone number to call and get missing parts. So currently I do not have the doors on, but it actually looks very good without them. The stand is made of quality material. The directions are not great, but putting it together is easy and not at all time consuming.Overall, Im very satisfied with this purchase.

Really nicely designed packaging. My box arrived looking like it was thrown off the back of the truck, which isn't the fault of the manufacturer. That being said, they designed the packaging really well to protect against this. For instance, on the ends of the boxes, they put a piece of particle board just inside the box with a thick piece of closed-cell foam to buffer it, and then all the parts of the item are protected inside that. That extra particle-board is NOT part of the entertainment center, so it's designed to take the abuse. This all being said, the item still suffered minor damage, but I fixed it pretty easily. I ordered a Nexera item before this, and saw this design of their packaging, and that is why I sought them out for this item.The item itself is very well designed, in my opinion. One of the best parts is there is a central support, the extends down the middle of the unit, and goes through a cutout in the bottom shelf, so it is a single vertical piece of wood that goes from the top surface, all the way down to the floor. This means positive support for the center of the cabinet, so you can place your TV there and feel secure that it will hold up for many years, without "bowing" in with the weight. Great design! I have an entertainment center with similar layout to this, but doesn't have this feature, and after 4-5 years it is bent downwards.The front doors have 3 axes of adjustment (up, down, and tilt), so you can adjust the doors perfectly, so they meet exactly in the center and are aligned together. The pegs that go into the side walls that hold the shelves also have an additional peg at the back to stop the rearward movement, so they always stay nicely aligned, and you have room in the back to route cords. Somebody cared about the design of this item!Love the design, and the packaging. If it arrives intact, and you can build furniture like this, then you'll love it!

We purchased this TV stand to keep our plasma TV away from our 6 month old and to be able to keep the accessories behind closed doors. It was very easy to put together, looks great, and keeps our electronics off limits to little hands. As my husband says, "It looks like a piece of real furniture" not like something you'd buy for your first apartment. I also like that it has rounded corners, which are less dangerous for those learning to walk. I highly recommend this stand.

UPS arrived in the driveway and started to take it out of the truck and stopped saying the cardboard used to package the item was so flimsy it had torn open in several places and there was no internal packing so it was broken beyond repair.

Not as expected. My expectation was a solid wood. A chemical on this product have given me a type of motion sickness for a few days.

Not smooth so it is a bit of a pain to dust. Soft close doors should be standard these days. Looks nice. Overall happy...…
