Humphreys Garden Allium Purple Sensation x 20 Bulbs + 10 Allium Drumstick

The media could not be loaded. I love alliums. I’ve had them in my garden for years but they don’t last forever and the frost took a few last winter so I wanted to replenish my stock. I saw these and thought they were a competitive price ( having purchased from my garden centre in the past) and they included drumstick alliums which I haven’t had before. The bulbs came really well wrapped in paper bags…so important as plastic bags make bulbs sweat and go mouldy and I can recycle the packaging. I received the right number of bulbs and all were in good condition and ready to go. I shall be planting them this month ( September) as this is the best month in the uk to maximise their potential. From past experience you want to be planting them two to three times the depth of the bulb so about 2-3 inch deep for the big ones and about an inch for the small ones. You can see the roots on each bulb so this end goes down with the tip pointing upwards. Allium like a sunny spot and well drained soil so if you have a clay soil dig in some sand and/ or grit into the area you are going to put them. I plant them in groups of three as they grow tall and if you plant them in clusters they help to self support. I’m hoping that at least two thirds of them appear…it’s pretty unusual to get 100% success with bulbs. I will edit this review if this isn’t the case next spring. Apparently the drumstick variety do self seed so I’m hoping for a bit of spread. If you don’t want them to spread you can dead head them before they dry out. In the autumn I just cut them down to the ground. Obviously I’m no gardening expert so I’d recommend checking online on how to care for your plants but these methods work for me. I’m just happy that the bulbs look great quality, no mould, no softness and I’m very happy I bought these. I shall be even happier next spring if they all bloom into life.

There was an initial problem with my order which the seller sorted out with extraordinary efficiency and speed. Great product too - bulbs all in good condition.

Allium bulbs arrived on time and as described.Will plant asap however I don't expect them to flower this year. If they do that's a great bonus.

Cant wait till spring to see them grow

Expensive and for planting advice you have to look online.Not impressed.

These bulbs come boxed and wrapped in tissue paper in separate bags, very impressed, planting guidance supplied, would buy again
