Athletic Mesh Dog Vest Harness - From the Inventor of Cloak & Dawggie

We LOVED the harnesses we bought from Cloak & Dawgie & were disappointed to find out the owner had sold the company & that style harness was no longer available. We were looking for the same harnesses in a bright color for better visibility on an off leash trail thru the woods. We found that the owner/designer started a new company, My Canine Kids & there was the same harness!! YAY!!! We ordered 2 in red & were a bit disappointed when they arrived. Love the reflective taping around the entire body, great improvement!! The mesh fabric was a lesser quality & felt a bit less sturdy. But mostly we were disappointed in the sizing. We ordered X-Smalls, same as our Cloak & Dawgie harnesses. The "strap" length that velcroes around the neck was exactly the same. However, the girth around the body was significantly bigger & we were not able to cose the starp to fit our dogs, so there was so much extra length overlapping when Velcroed closed. We felt that with the sizing tweaked if we sent them back & ordered a size smaller, the neck would likely be too small. I ended up taking a seam on both sides to shorter the length around the girth/chest. they fit perfectly now, & lucky I can sew, but we were disappointed with the tweaking of proportions/sizing. Overall, though I really like the way this harness works, super easy to put on a dog, ( which is why I decided to alter it myself to fit) just wish the sizing would have been consistent with the previous. I wonder if the sizing was tweaked to better fit the many chubby dachshunds out there!

I've used this maker's harness vests and jackets for the last 11 years before she sold her original business and afterwards with my chi dogs. The sizing is great and I like addition of reflective tape. Very good quality. Her vests and jackets were used everyday for 11 years and they are still in great shape. You can throw them into the wash and air dry. The harness is wonderful for little toy dogs.

The color is more like lemon (as shown) than lime (as described).I like the color and the reflective edging good for safety. It's lightweight for summer. However the fabric is slippery and doesn't fit on the dog the way I'd hoped. Finding a great harness is almost impossible since cloak n doggie stopped making them. nothing compares with those. I'd buy nothing else if I could get my hands on those again.

We bought two of these for our chihuahuas when they were around $4 each and unbelievable for the price. They lasted about a year. Then when I ordered them again this year...the price went up to $23 each and couldn't find a comparable design so we reluctantly purchased them again. 4 months later the reflective coating started peeling off....which the first ones did...buy hey they were only $4. I may not order again. I can sew, so I'll make my own rather than pay $46 for two small harnesses!

Years ago, I purchased a similar vest for my dachshund under the brand name Cloak & Dawggie. Love that vest but the velcro isn't sticking quite as well, so I ordered this one as a replacement. Just received it in the mail today, and I'm very disappointed with it. The quality of the material is very poor and cheap seeming. I am quite certain that it will not last the 8 years that the previous one lasted. I'm going to keep it, just because my little buddy needs one and I like that it's adjustable, but very sad that it seems so cheap. It also doesn't fit as well but I'm afraid if I went a size down, it'd be too small. My dachshund is about 12-13lbs, and I purchased a size small for him.

Love this product line works great on my tri-paw Chihuahua. Would give it 5 stars but there was a small rip in the stitching on the edge, I would have sent it back but I needed it and was going on a vacation out of the country.
