Yummy dried mushrooms that can also be rehydrated
These are delicious 40 gram assortments of dried mushrooms in an air tight container that preserves freahness! These can last a very long time on your shelf making it easy to store and grab! Consumers can also put these dried mushrooms in water to where they will soak up their moisture again reviving them to traditional plump mushrooms! These smell like salty mushrooms and are great for endless culinary purposes or even just to snack on! The texture is that of a dehydrated, softer, chip like tecture with some crunch! The price is great for the health benefits and the taste is delicious to me! Im a mushroom hippy dippy kinda girl! Highly recommend!

A wonderful convenience
These are great for many reasons. They never get slimy, and do not force you to use them. They are there, ready and delicious; to say nothing about the nutritional benefits!

Not too flavorful, but good in most recipes
Roland Wild Forest Mushrooms are an OK assortment of wild mushrooms (Boletus, Black Fungus / Ear, Oyster and Porcini), but there's nothing fancy or gourmet about them. The mushrooms taste quite good, but they aren't as bursting with flavor as I would expect from an wild mushrooms assortment. They have a mild flavor, the Black Fungus were the most tasty out of the bunch. The size of the mushrooms is all over the place, there are big slices, small bits, even small flakes and dust of mushrooms.Once soaked in water they get quite soft, not a great chew factor (not even from the Black Fungus). Soaking them for 20 minutes it's too much, they get mushy. 5 minutes, then lightly cooking them in a pan is more than enough. The mushroom get really big once hydrated. The leftover juices can be used for cooking other dishes (or just drinking as a soup). If you decide to cook the mushroom with the dish rather than re-hydrate (e.g. with the pasta or the rice), I would add them very late in the cooking process, they overcook easily. They're OK in rice or pasta dishes, not good enough to top toast or a fancy dish.Somehow I was expecting the product to come in a glass jar, but it's just plastic, and a thin lightweight one.

Excellent if you need a small amount and the price is reasonable.
The added benefit to these is that you can add the mushrooms to a spice grinder making a powder which can then be added to gravy/stock etc for a subtle umami flavor. I'll purchase again. Thank you

Emailed Roland NOT prod of France! prod of China!
Haven't tried these yet,but as amazon was lacking in info on these I emailed Roland foods and they wrote back stating these are a product of France.Roland foods has very good customer service if you have product questions!5 stars for the great price also :)Will update once I use these.Ok,I received these a few days ago (Oct 1st) and Roland foods corp actually gave me the wrong info.My packaging says Product of China.I would have not bought these if that were the case.I am extremely dissapointed with Roland foods corp and hopefully can somehow get my money back.I am not sure if I will buy any Roland food products in the future. If you are not satisfied with an amazon product they are usually good with refunding your money back!---------Update: Nov 28,2009...Ok,so now I've dealt with Roland foods head office again and thought I'd post my experience here. They were nice people to deal with but the lady thatI spoke to and emailed me back told me they changed packagers and that the new packaging said product of france and they could send me a new package if I liked.Ok, good enough....They went outof their way to send it to me...impressed with that at least. But now when I recived my new mushrooms package it still says product of China/Chile on the package.I think next time I will buy the large package as it says "france' on the front and hopefully that is correct.I guess Roland Foods is not even sure of the origin of some of their products like mushrooms. As for quality they are very good and happy with that at least.I soaked and rinsed them and stored in the fridge overnight (do not store in water or they get soggy...storein covered dish). Then added to an ommelete and it was yummy :)actually it was a cheese and mushroom ommelette.

Very flavourful!
Soaked in previously boiled water that had sit for a few minutes in a shallow wide bowl and let them soak. They have this wild strong aroma & flavour. Which is perfect for my roasted potatoes and roasted onions mixture. So delicious!!! Will purchase again!

Repeat buyer
I find this easier than a trip to the store every time I make Beef Stroganoff or pot roast. Look nice once cooked. Good taste and texture

Always have on hand
I order these often. They’re great to have on hand to add to soups & casseroles. They make it easy to whip up a mushroom sauce for burgers.
