Excellent replacement laundry tub pump with a few suggestions/modifications
I purchased this to replace an under-the-tub pump that was there when I bought the house, looked pretty old to begin with, and eventually burnt out. I found the review by "Pawn Pusher" on February 19, 2014 EXTREMELY helpful and almost followed his (or her) recommendations to a "T" when installing it on my end.Installing it away from the sink worked well for me allowing pressure build-up to trigger the pump so no water was standing in the tub and also served as a trap for what water didn't make it through the pump. The included ball valve is VERY stiff, however, I kept it in my set-up.The check-valve is very sub-standard, if you test it just by blowing through it you can feel air going through the other end, what do you think water's going to do? So I replaced it with a American Valve P32S 1 1/4" PVC In-Line Check Socket Schedule 40, 1 1/4-Inch from Lowe's.The only modification I added were cuplinks before and after the pump to make for easy replacing or repair on the pump down the road. I also screwed a scrap piece of 2"x6" to my basement floor and bolted the pump to that, I know it's overkill but I wasn't sure how much vibration to expect for the pump. Surprisingly, this thing is so quiet you can barely tell it's running. When I first tested it by running the water in the sink I couldn't hear it over the faucet and didn't think it was on. Vibration is minimal, you could get away maybe just putting a piece of the rubber "shelf paper" you put in your tool box drawers between the pump and your basement floor, no need for bolting it down. Now I just have an HE front loading washing machine emptying into the tub, and with the ball valve after the pump turned down almost to closed to maintain a steady flow so the pump isn't pulsating on and off and eventually burn out quicker, I haven't had any issues with the tub getting even to half-full or threat of over-flowing. With that, as a back-up incase the pump goes or and GFI trips and I'm not aware of it and throw a load of wash in, I have a Glentronics, Inc. BWD-HWA Basement Watchdog Water Sensor and Alarm set up clipped over the side of the tub about 3-4 inches from the top to alert me if the water ever gets close to overflowing.I did post pictures, but Pawn Pusher's review really hit the nail on the head.UPDATE (4/2/18): Last summer I was having issues with the pump just staying constantly on. With this, i'm really glad I installed those cuplinks. So I discovered with washing rugs/welcome mats and my golf and softball shorts (sometimes I pick up little stones and pebbles in my pockets), a rock had made its way down the drain, through the pump, and got wedged in the check valve forcing it to stay open. So toward the emptying the sink, the pump was trying to pump the water 6+ feet straight up into the lateral line, the pump would shut off and the water would come back down, not stop at the wedged open check valve, go back through the pump and then the pump would sense the water, trigger back on, and this would repeat, thankfully I caught it. So I took the check valve off, inserted a wooded dowel down it to hold open the spring-loaded valve, and banged it on the basement floor, and 2 decent size pebbles came out. Reinstalled and haven't had a problem since (knock on wood). After that I just added a Danco 88886 Mesh Strainer Combo 3-Pack Various Sizes, Stainless Steel to the drain. I ended up using the 2.75" one but got the variety pack because the sizes are to the diameter of the whole piece and not your drain opening. So i wasn't sure the sizing or if i'd want to double up the large & medium, or medium & small ones for better screening...but i just use the 2.75" one.

Works well, easy install. Updated model?
Works well, easy to install. The unit received was not that pictured. The unit I received was model #300514WF. I don't know if the "WF" is an update to or replacement for the "W" or if they substituted it because the other model was unavailable at the time. It is the same configuration and all the published specifications seem to match but the unit I received has a nice looking plastic enclosure. I am good with this as the case offers more protection to the motor and will make cleaning dust and lint off the unit off much easier. It probably also muffles the motor and impeller noise somewhat. Just be forewarned that, if you plan on using the motor ears to mount the unit, they are not available on the model I received.I was [as some others seemed to be from the reviews I read before making the purchase] a bit concerned with the weight of the pump being supported only by the drain connection on the plastic sink. I was prepared to configure an axillary mount to take some of the weight off but I have decided to forego that. There is a bit of torque when the motor starts but it seems to be dampened by the mounting union that comes with the pump. I detect no vibration when running, Excessive vibration would be more of a concern to me with regard to breaking the sink drain.Initially, the pump ran in hiccups when there wasn't much water in the sink. I referred to the Troubleshooting section of the manual and found "Pump starts and stops too often". Following the instructions offered there, I easily corrected the issue by adjusting the supplied ball valve in the output line.I purchased the pump for a utility sink that is not intended to be used for washing machine discharge. I did however empty the washer into the sink one time just to see how the pump handled it. I was impressed. While I generally don't like to purchase the least expensive model of anything (Think: you get what you pay for) I am very happy with this pump and would recommend it to anyone.

Good pump, wish pressure trigger was more sensitive
Pump works great - screwed directly on bottom of Utility sink in basement, use to pump laundry waste water to overhead sewer line. Pump is surprisingly quiet but solidly built. The only issue is the sink needs about 1" of water in it before pump kicks on (since the pump is pressure triggered and you need X amount of water to get it on). If you dont want water sitting in the sink you can do one of two things:1) Install pump away from sink, so that 'standing water' goes down the sink, into a couple feet of PVC, and then into pump. Basically the water will be in the Piping before entering the pump.or2) Have a small plastic container and push down above the sink drain hole - Pushing the water down with the container will be enough pressure to activate pump and it will run until all water is out of sink.
