Can you use any Olympic weights or do they have to be made by Valor?

You can use any standard 1" plates or 2" Olympic plates. The weight pegs are 1", but that does not mean you can only use standard 1" plates - if you use 2" Olympic plates, you will just have some play without a snug fit unless you were to purchase an Olympic adapter separately (in case you need, our EX-10 Olympic Sleeve Adapter can be found with the ASIN B00GNOQE0M). You do not have to add these to the BF-47, it is simply an option sold separately if you feel you need a more snug fit for your plates.

What's the total weight capacity on bench ? I'm 300lbs 6.1"

I am not sure what the total weight capacity is. I only have a total of 130 lbs of weights right now. For whatever reason, the 130 lbs on the BF 47 feels about like 150 lbs on a regular bench press with the 45 lb bar. Maybe it's due to the angle your hands are at when lifting on the BF 47. All in all I am very pleased with it due to it's safety aspect when my boys are using it and I am not around.
