Smooth, attractive under cabinet LED light with two light levels and motion sensing
The GE 24 inch under cabinet LED light is a great way to add light to a kitchen counter or other workspace. The light is even, smooth and attractively colored (you have three light color options). The two light levels are very useful. The motion sensor works well for me.MOTION SENSOR: When installed, I have found the motion sensor to work well. Rather than a moving wave, I hold the back of my hand near the sensor for a split second. The comments here made me wonder how well the motion sensor would work, and my experiments with it before installation were inconclusive. But installed, it works fine so far, in our installation. It may help to clean the sensor from time to time (use something soft and non-abrasive).The motion sensor is on the right if you mount this light under a cabinet with the lighting area of the strip facing toward you. (The light goes more one direction than the other, it's not symmetrical.) So check the location where you plan to install it, to make sure that the sensor location works for you.NICE, EVEN LIGHT: The light is smooth and looks great. The length of the LED light spreads the light over the entire counter or work area. The LED light itself is a long bar of light, not a lot of little points. Both of those things make for more even light.TWO USEFUL LIGHT LEVELS: There are two light levels, which is useful. (Three would be annoying to cycle through, I think.) When turned on, the brightness is 820 lumens, or about the brightness of a 60 watt bulb. (It seems brighter than a 60 watt room lamp would, though, as it is close to the countertop.) The next lightness level is 25% of that brightness. This lower level is a useful level for complementing room lighting or as night-time lighting that's not too bright.I also have the 18 inch light, which has a 640 lumens of light (or the equivalent of about 50 watts of light bulb). That's not much less light , so if you don't have space for the 24 inch light that's a good alternative.THREE LIGHT COLORS: A small, easy-to-use switch allows you to choose from a soft warm white light (3000K), a bright cool white light (4000K) or daylight (5000K). I much prefer the warm white at a 3000K temperature for all my LED lights, so it's great to have the option on this light. There may be times when we want a different color; this fixture makes it simple to switch.INSTALLATION: It is a little difficult to get the two screws installed exactly the right distance apart, and they need to be installed pretty much EXACTLY right for it to work. Consider taping the template to the cabinet and drilling a (shallow!) pilot hole or marking the spot with an awl. I used the template to mark the locations with a pencil, but that still seemed to result in the screws being off.You may also need to experiment a little with how much space you leave between the head of the screw and the cabinet, to get it loose enough to install but tight enough to hold the light. That only takes a minute to sort out.GET THE RIGHT MODEL: There is more than one model of the GE 24 inch LED light, and not all have the same features. So check to be sure you order and receive the right model.Jasco bought GE's lighting businesses, so if you're looking for the manufacturer website, it will turn up under Jasco.2021 MOTION SENSING UPDATE: I see a number of comments about the motion sensing. All I can say is that it has worked fine for us in the last few years. I found it worked best to hold my hand a couple inches below the sensor. You do need to know where the sensor is (toward the right end, see above). The only issue I ever had, and not a big issue, is that if I had something right below the sensor it might change light levels; and some things made it cycle. I really like these lights.

Easy to install, but that also depends upon where it's intended to be installed.
I chose this product to replace another old Jasco (GE) under-cabinet mounted, fluorescent fixture which had given up the ghost after many years of continual service. It is mounted to the underside of a kitchen cabinet which is situated partially above the sink. It has two light levels (controlled by a wave of the hand), and three colors of light (pink-ish, pink-white, and bright white) you set via a small rocker switch. Set on the brightest setting, it is, indeed, bright at any of the 3 light colors you choose.

Sensor
I think the sensor needs to be more sensitive. Otherwise, I think this lamp is great.

Good lights, a little fiddly, and a bit expensive
Used these rather expensive lights for under cupboard lighting in our kitchen. Installation was straightforward. Lights daisy chained together and yet still operated independently--a plus for us. What we didn't expect so much was how vulnerable they would be to unintentional on and off switching caused by reaching for things on the work surface. Just something to keep in mind when you're strategizing on how and where to mount these lights.

Works as advertised!
I just installed a 24" version and we are really pleased with how it looks and functions. To dim or turn on or off you have to wave your hand very close to the sensor, within 4-6" . This makes sense in hindsight because you wouldn't want the lights strobing while you are preparing meals. The reason I ordered this product is because the house we bought had some already-installed halogen GE lights (120v/60A 12W) and half of them didn't work any more. Also, they burned very hot which worried me. The plugs, and power requirements, match exactly so all I had to do was remove the old light and plug it in to the new one (the previous owner had the under-cabinet lights hard wired and linked to a switch). This first 24" was a test to see if I could swap them out so I've now ordered enough to replace the rest of the halogens in the kitchen.

Not really motion sensing
Installation was easy with a paper template for the screw placement. But this is best described as touchless rather than motion sensing. It works about as well as the toucheless water faucets in the restrooms; i.e. not very well. You practically have to touch (usually repeatedly) the small sensor area at one end of the unit to turn it on and off. I think it actually works by sensing changes in light levels and does not work well in dim light. Once you manage to turn it on it will say lit until you manage to turn it off There seems to be a minimum reset time; if you turn it off and decide to turn it back on immediately, it will not. This is not at all like a motion sensing light bulb. Very disappointed. I did not install this before the return period expired, so will be donating this junk to a charity. They will get what it's worth.

BE CAREFULL THIS IS NOT MOTION ACTIVATED
Be careful this light is not motion activated. It is a bright light and has good color but very misleading. This light turns off and on by waving your hand VERY CLOSE to the light. And I do mean remarkably close. If you use it as under cabinet lighting and you walk up to it, it does not turn on. You have to reach out and nearly touch the light to get it to turn on. Once on it stays on until you once again reach out and nearly touch it to go off. There are situations where this is perfect but if you are like me and were looking for a motion activated light that goes on if you open a door or cabinet or walk past a counter, THIS IS NOT THE LIGHT FOR YOU. Too bad they are good lights. I re0purposed three of them to other applications and am now looking for what I thought I was getting.
