USA Made & Better Than Some Alternatives
I bought both this and a similar product by KSend which is about 66% cheaper. So I'll do this in more of a comparison review.Value:- The KSend is cheaper at about $10 and uses standard toilet bleach generic pellets.- The NeverScrub! uses their refill cartridges that are filled with bleach granules, the refill cartridges are around ~$5 each and are supposed to last up to 90 days -- however the cartridges are easily disassembled, and you could likely break up some generic pellets to refill.Quality/Construction:- The KSend is Made in China and the plastic feels noticeably more flimsy. You have to really screw down the cap or higher pressure water systems will cause it to leak.- The NeverScrub! is Made in USA and the plastic feels more reinforced/rugged. You also need to make sure to secure the top as needed. It also doesn't hurt to put some hose clamps on if you have high pressure in your water lines.Function:- The KSend pushes water through the housing and then directly out the other side into the outlet tube, because of this wide-open design you tend to get a powerful smell of bleach in the toilet, and the bowl water is noticeably "yellowish" from the bleach being in the water.- The NeverScrub! uses a more restricted path with the water flowing in the bottom, getting pushed through the bleach granules, and then back out into the area where it leaves the housing. I didn't notice any strong smell and it seems apparent that there's not as much bleach being dispensed with this design (a good thing).- Both seemed to keep the bleach from getting in the upper basin assuming they're properly secured and installed. Conclusion:Given the fact the NeverScrub! design seems to meter the bleach better and feels like it's built to last longer overall, I'd have to recommend going with that design -- I relegated the KSend to the guest bathroom just because of the strong odor. The downside of the proprietary refill cartridges is mitigated by the fact the cartridges are easily refilled with very little DIY.

Sprays bleach water everywhere from leaks in the body and fittings
I really tried to make this work. I had bought 2 of them. Water sprays out of a casting pin hole and shoots straight up. The defect was in both of these units. I dried off the first one and sealed the pin hole with silicone. After it cured and I reinstalled it both fittings (not the tubing) on the inlet side was spraying the bleach water into the toilet tank and because of that the bowl level was not even close to the normal level. So I took it out again, dried it off and siliconed both fitting leaks which I shouldn't need to have to do on a new unit. Finally now no leaks! The next issue is when you flush by the time it gets the air out of the system it shorts the water to the toilet bowl causing a low level water level in the toilet bowl. There was also several plastic shavings inside the bodies of both units when I received them. I think the idea is great however the quality of manufacture is at a very low level. I never installed or used the second one because of such poor quality. I will try the Fluidmaster brand and hopefully it will be better. YOU SHOULD ALSO BE AWARE THAT THESE ARE NOT RETUNABLE !

Keeps bowl clean at the cost of slight odor
I had been wanting to try something like this because many toilet bowl cleaners go directly into the supply tank and tend to either damage the plastic and rubber parts in there, or just keep dissolving (this is particularly a problem for seldom-used toilets. This unit is one that injects cleaner directly into the bowl when flushed so it is only used up during flushes. It also remains out of sight. It was easy to install and looks easy to refill (haven't needed to do this yet). It does not leak as I was careful to tightly assemble the hoses. It also performs its primary duty--helping to clean the bowl. You still have to clean the toilet occasionally but far less than before so it is well worth it in my opinion. The only downside, and hence the 4 stars, is the smell. Your bathroom, especially small ones, will take on a slight indoor-pool scent (the cleaner is probably chlorine based). This actually doesn't bother me too much as that smell makes reminds me of hotels and vacation! It is not a bad scent but it may bother some people. I suppose you could easily counteract it with a Glade unit or similar.

1 month, works so far.
Had to somewhat reverse install for this to work. It was easy. Installed on Mar 1st and it been a month now. The toilet bowl is clean. I'm not tempted to scrub. Have to order 2 more and some refills. Unscented, would be NICE TO HAVE A LEMON SCENT.

What a waste! :-(
Because the reviews on this product were mixed, and I *really* hoped it would work, I decided to take a chance. Not a good idea! It was very easy to install, so my fingers were crossed when I flushed the toilet for the first time. Like many others have mentioned, the unit (not the attaching tubes) leaked and shot bleach water everywhere!! The whole purpose of this unit is to have water flow through it, be mixed with the "cleaning solution granules" (aka, dried bleach) and then go straight into the overflow tube of the tank and directly into the toilet bowl. That way, the bleach solution doesn't ruin the working components inside the tank like a drop-in tablet can. Unfortunately, when the bleach solution is leaking everywhere out of the unit, it's whole purpose it shot. The unit was defective - there was no apparent shipping damage to the box or unit itself. Because it contains a "hazardous material", you can't even return it and get your $$ back!! Still like the idea of the product - will try another brand!!
