DCS DRH-48N Built In Patio Heater, Natural Gas, Brushed Stainless Steel

So disappointed - I had this installed for a large patio area, when we started it up if flamed, made a noise like a tractor and got so hot the metal discolored within minutes. We were advised by contractor to turn it off as it must be faulty so we did and we removed it. I have since been in contact with the seller who wants me to pay for postage to return and wants to charge a restock fee - its faulty they should be refunding me - read the reviews - poor product and even poorer service.

Bought this brand new. First one had blemishes. Next one did not work. 3 weeks to get a service tech and I had to teach him how to use a screw driver. Appalling. Had to have a second guy come out to replace valve. Based on other reviews, I have doubts it will work consistently. Been three months from purchase. Hoping for a functional device next week when parts arrive. Will never get anything DCS again.

We purchased four of these in Oct of 2008. The units immediately had problems with starting up, either not at all or constantly cycling through the ignition phase. We had the local service company come out to fix all four under warranty and that fix only lasted for a couple weeks before we had the same problems again. Finally a DCS rep came out and they put in updated igniters, which seemed to do the trick. Here it is a year later and problems again with two of the four units. DCS told the local gas company store that we bought them through that they have washed their hands of the problems now that it is a year later and the warranty has expired. Typical.

Dcs should be ashamed to have thier name on this product. Nothing but problems with the igniter. Very happy with thier grills. Stay away from this heater.
