After being left destroyed by the chaos that had followed Jim and his alcoholic alter ego Jack Devlin (Tim Roth) from the UK, this new series picks up where we left our unlikely hero, cut off in the remote Rockies wilderness with his grieving and shell-shocked family struggling to come to terms with their ordeal. Seeking refuge from her own parents, Anna is taken in by the God-fearing Nickel family, headed up by Pastor Johan (John Lynch) his wife Sarah (Anamaria Marinca) and daughter Rosa (Jenessa Grant), and hidden with the Ammonites a religious community close to Little Big Bear. However the peaceful prairie family are harbouring secrets of their own and it's not long before Anna is forced to seek her father's help, as an altogether more hellish threat emerges. If Jim is to find a way to save his family and atone for his sins he must form an uneasy alliance in the battle for forgiveness... Includes subtitles for the Hard Of Hearing

WHAT THE .........?
SERIES 1 WAS VERY GOOD BUT SERIES 2 WAS MUDDLED,PREPOSTEROUS & SO FULL OF PLOT HOLES THAT I HAD LOST INTEREST TOTALLY BY EPISODE 8 . I DID START HERE TO ITEMISE THE MANY & VARIOUS FAULTS WHICH PUT ME OFF BUT HONESTLY I CAN'T BE BOTHERED IF YOU WANT TO WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY LIKE I DID GO AHEAD. BEFORE I GO AND TAKE A COUPLE OF PARACETAMOL TO LESSEN THE PAIN OF WATCHING SUCH A LOAD OF GARBAGE JUST PICTURE THIS ONE THREAD (OF MANY SUCH PILES OF UNBELIEVABLE POOH) THE FAMILY ARE OUT ON A FREEZING HILLSIDE COMPLETE WITH ANNA'S BOYFRIEND ,WHO'S ALSO HER HALF BROTHER AND IS THE SHOOTER WHITEY WHO TRIED TO KILL JACK BUT KILLS ANNA'S BROTHER (AT THE START OF SERIES 1) JACK SHOOTS AND KILLS HIM ANNA SHOOTS JACK AND WALKS OFF INTO THE WILDERNESS LEAVING JACK TO DIE AND MUM MAKES DOUBLY SURE JACK WILL PERISH BY REMOVING THE TORNIQUET FROM HIS THIGH . MUM CANNOT FIND ANNA DESPITE NOT BEING TOO FAR BEHIND AND ALSO WALKING (AS IS ANNA )IN VIRGIN SNOW WITH NO SNOW FALLING AT THE TIME. JACK WHO AFTER BEING SHOT APPEARS TO BE COMATOSE SUPERHUMANLY PULLS HIMSELF TOGETHER (WELL HE WOULD WOULDN'T HE ?) AND WALKS TO SAFETY MEAN WHILE ANNA HAS A CLOSE ENCOUNTER WITH A MOUNTAIN LION BUT ASKS IT TO KILL HER IN SUCH AN AGGRESSIVE WAY IT RUNS OFF (PRESUMABLY TRAUMATISED FOR LIFE VOWING NEVER TO APPEAR ON FILM AGAIN). EVENTUALLY ANNA COMES UPON A SETTLEMENT SNEAKS INTO A BARN AND STRINGS HERSELF UP.I HAD ALREADY BEGUN TO HAVE MISGIVINGS ABOUT THE REALITY OF THIS WHOLE SITUATION BECAUSE UNLESS ALL THREE MEMBERS OF THIS FAMILY HAD THE SAME SERIOUS MENTAL ISSUES AND NOT ONLY TO OTHERS BUT TO EACH OTHER AS WELL WOULD THEY NOT BY NOW BE OR AT LEAST START TO BE TRAUMATISED IF ONLY SLIGHTLY &IF THE DAUGHTER WANTED TO COMMIT SUICIDE WHY NOT JUST LAY DOWN IN THE SNOW AND FREEZE INSTEAD OF WALKING FOR 10 HOURS (ANY ONE FOR FROSTBITE ?) JUST TO GET IN A BARN ,WHERE IT MUST HAVE BEEN COLDER THAN HER MARATHON WALK SINCE THIS IS THE FIRST TIME SHE BLEW ON HER HANDS TO WARM THEM UP. I SUPPOSE SHE COULD HAVE READ THE SCRIPT JUST BEFORE ENTERING THE BARN HENCE THE ROPE ESCAPADE.OH AND WHILST THIS IS ONLY ONE EXAMPLE OF A DIRE SECOND STORY AS A LITTLE EXTRA IT TURNS OUT THAT JACK IS NOT ACTUALLY ANNA'S DAD SO SHE NOW HAS A LITTLE(HALF) BROTHER (SHOT AT THE BEGINNING ...REMEMBER THE BEGINNING) & HE ALSO WAS NOT HER DEAD BOYFRIEND'S FATHER,THAT WAS DOWN TO FRANK WHO SLEPT WITH HIS OWN SISTER AND PRODUCED WHITEY. WHILST WRITING THE ABOVE IT HAS OCCURRED TO ME HOW SIMILAR THIS IS TO THE AMERICAN SERIES "SOAP" WHICH WAS PLAYED FOR LAUGHS UNLIKE THIS WHICH IS PLAYED FOR WHO KNOWS WHAT OR WHY,SOMEBODY'S MORTGAGE PRESUMABLY'

Not worth the effort
I disagree with the 4&5* reviews. I stopped half-way through the 4th episode and threw the DVD’s away, it was that poor. There was very little plot being stretched thinly; Tim Roth was predictable, boring, and acted with the subtlety of a sledgehammer. Whilst some actors were good, the script wasn’t: I didn’t care for any of the characters, what they were doing, what might happen in the future. Don’t buy this - be content to stop after season one and watch something else instead.

Not as good as series 1 in my opinion
I absolutely loved series 1 and was glued to it from start to finish but series 2 fell short of my expectations.Yes, the cast is all there and the performances cannot be faulted and neither can the production or cinematography as it remains true to series 1, unfortunately, it is the story itself that seemed to be a little weak and in places almost appearing desperate to hold it together and it came across as being a little confused and muddled thus struggling to gain momentum. Is it terrible? NO! is it still a good show? YES! would I watch series 3? YES!Holding out for series 3 as I cannot get enough of "Tin Star"

There coming for us, Liverpool!
After the big cliffhanger ending, in S1 when Jack shot Whitey. Cos of killing Pete, Anna lashes out and . Shoots him in the leg, leaving Jack for dead . Both her and Angela, must try and put there lives back together . Over what Jim /Jack did, Anna tries to kill herself in a Praire colony farm , and a Preacher Johan. Takes her in, he's but not as squeaky clean as he appears. Cos he betrayed a drug cartel, now coming to collect and , hurt them. He asks Jim and his family for help. Excellent viewing, not as strong as .the first Season, but still as good. If you enjoyed S1 , then second one. Will go down a treat , well worth the money having . The boxset on bluray, thumbs up from me 👍

painful
- about the worst acting I have ever seen: some horrible irisch "actress" with the body language and facial expression of a zombie and the restricted code vocabulary and diction of a six year old special needs child; Tim Roth lost acting among a bunch of so hard trying to act morons. In the middle of part three I switched that junk of fand in the bin it went. Seldom was a second series after a good enough first one so bad.

Tin Star Quality
Another superb season of Tin Star and Tim Roth goes from better to even better - or worse, depending on how you look at it!! Watched the whole series in one day and just totally loved it. Not people I would like as my friends perhaps, but their extreme actions are certainly great fun to watch. Look forward to season 3!!

Superb
Season one was excellent, but I preferred this one. Dark humour throughout eight episodes, however the two final episodes were very different. Superb acting, strong characters. I do hope another series is planned.
