Nice secure plate holder for my vintage license.

I bolted a few things to my truck that I wanted to have attached with more security than the manufacturer-supplied hex head bolts, or the usual aftermarket "security hex head." This model has a four-hole, non-symmetrical pattern which, I think, would slow down a potential thief. I am not 100% sure that the bolt security couldn't be overcome with Vise Grips but there's always one more thing the bad guy can do if they want to. The idea is to make it just difficult enough that most thieves will pass it by for something easier. To make my installation a little more secure I also put a few drops of Loctite on the threads. I downrated the review from 5 to 4 stars because one of the bolts I received did not have "clean" threads and it was hard to get a matching nut onto the bolt. I sent a message to the vendor but received no reply. Fortunately I was able to locate someone with a "chaser die" who could repair the thread. I have also given a 5 star review to the matching nuts by the same vendor--and they had no problems with their threads.

I used these to add at least some security for my rooftop tent. These fit the provided M8 t bolts from Freespirit Recreation (GoFSR). They’re precise, clean, and thread on easily. Finish seems quality and the “key” fits well and seams sturdy.

Probably one of the more secure off the shelf security nuts. A bit expensive though.

When I purchased these to add security to deter the theft of my very expensive light bar and the additional wind Ferring, I was disappointed how easy the security feature of the bolts are easily overcome with a simple pair of vise grips due to the flat, broad, 5 mm bolt head that IMO should have been slanted. The bolts are an excellent quality stainless steel, so they are not going to rust easily. The 4-prong key fits solid and with a socket or wrench you can tighten them down as tight as you want. I seriously wish I could have given these "Anti-Theft Security Bolts" 5-Stars, but since the security feature of these are easily bypassed by a common pair of vise grips, it doesn't give me the assurance they are that tamper resistant.
