Big guys worried about chafing, stop here.
Okay, so you're trying to search through reviews to find out if these are going to work. I did the same. Here is my story.Okay, so to begin, I am a larger guy. I am forty years old and around 250 lbs. My inner thighs rub together, and I have to wear boxer briefs to prevent chafing and rashes. Boxer briefs, on longer hikes or walks, will typically fail eventually. I end up with a rash anyways. I just have to stop for a day or two to let it go away and heal. I've used Body Glide and other things; it's just hit or miss. Now, on to my nightmare. I recently decided to take my family on a surprise Walt Disney World vacation. This vacation was in the middle of July, in the Florida summer. We're talking three full hiking days of 95-degree heat, and 90% humidity. Panic sets in. Now, I live in South Florida, so I already know what to expect, and as a larger guy, this trip terrified me. How the hell was I going to handle three full days of walking around Disney, and not end up with rashes between my legs after day one, that prevents days two and three from happening? Walking that far in this kind of heat and humidity for me is a recipe for disaster. I felt like this trip was me walking through the gates of Mordor itself.I desperately started looking for some solution that I could wear to prevent this certain doom. After all, I did not want to disappoint my 12-year-old daughter or my wife (who could hike as if it were an Olympic event).Enter the Minus33 Merino Wool boxer briefs. I decided to buy a pair, and try working out with them about a month before the trip. They worked wonderfully. I ended up buying two pairs for the trip, and washed a pair in the hotel room sink, and wore them again the last day. No problems and they washed great. These boxer briefs saved my trip. I had zero chafing, zero ride-ups, or discomfort. It rained one day, and even though I got wet, they still performed great. I now buy them for my working out as well.TLDR;Fat guy with constant chafing issues. Three straight days of Walt Disney World in Florida July Summer Heat. Wore these and have zero regrets. Saved my trip and my inner thigh

Nice! Comfortable!
This may fall into the TMI (too much information) category, but I've been free ballin' for the last 20 years or so, mainly because I always tended to be hot, and I felt that the cotton boxers that I used to wear made me even hotter. Well fast-forward to now, and for various reasons, I've decided to go back to wearing underwear. BUT I didn't want to experience the hotness of cotton so I was looking for alternatives. My past experience was that wool was thick, itchy, scratchy, and a general PITA (judging by my old wool sweaters and very thick hiking socks.) Then recently I got some new cycling shoes that didn't have enough ventilation so I was getting hot spots. I researched to see if there were any options and I kept hearing people talking about how awesome wool cycling socks were, so I got a pair and I ended up loving them. (I now have several sets of wool cycling socks and they are the only socks I wear now--for cycling and general street wear.)So I figured that maybe wool underwear would be great too. I ordered 2 of these in the medium size and I really like them. They are fairly snug and a bit itchy when you first put them on, but they stretch to fit very soon and the itch goes away. (I'm small/medium athletic build, 5'-10", 33" measured waist, 10% body fat, and have larger upper legs than normal due to cycling and hiking.)Other thing I like is that they don't stink after long use (such as after 3 days of camping and hiking), they are not hot or cold, but rather neutral in temperature, and they dry quickly when you're sweaty. All in all I'm very happy with my purchase. $28 for underwear is very expensive, compared to the cheaper cotton ones people normally buy, but to me the performance is worth it.The one thing that I don't like so much (and for which I've removed one star) is that the legs stretch out after wearing them for a while. They will shrink back after you remove and wash them, but they the legs stretch out again when you wear them again. It might be good if they added some elastic to the bottom of the legs.

Awesome but wears out
I wore these on a thru hike. they are amazing....Amazingly odor free....Just with hiking 8 to 12 hours a day eventually the legs and but get holes worn in them...I'm wearing them now, if they were cheaper it would be all I wore.

Best pair of underwear that I have ever worn.
The merino wool is so soft it’s ridiculous. I am no longer having any problems with too much humidity down there. The wool breathes better than any synthetic and it is so comfortable. Pricey- yes, worth it- definitely

$34 bucks for a pair of briefs???
Yep. Do I regret it? Nope.See I’m a biker and I like to ride as long as I can into the fall and even early winter. So I need warm gear. That’s how I discovered wool underwear. I first bought a pair of Kancamagus long underwear. Love them! So warm and so soft. My boys are the happiest they have ever seen! These are just the short version of those pants. Soft as a baby’s butt. They are warm, but not to the point that you wouldn’t want to wear them all year. They don’t make my stuff uncomfortable and sweaty or anything like that. Just cozy.I don’t know about longevity yet, I’ve only washed them a few times so far. So we’ll see how they hold up. I’m washing in cold water on delicate. But I’m not gonna hand wash or anything crazy. If they can’t handle regular use I don’t want them. But so far I’m satisfied. Are they expensive? Yes. But my junk is worth it. lolI like em a lot. Bet you will too. Thanks for reading

Very nice woolly underwear
Very nice woolly underwear. It’s not cheap. Well, it’s pretty expensive, but it looks like a quality product. It’s been washed a couple of times, air dried with other woollens, and it appears to have kept its shape and elasticity. I have a lot of wool underwear, because we like to feed moths, ho ho... but I’m really pleased with this brand so far. The moths will discover it eventually. And I will buy more.

Disappointed.
Too tight, too short, not as described in size guide.

Merino wool...the most comfortable fabric you will ever wear!
Merino wool, merino wool...oh how I love thee merino wool! Yes, merino wool is probably the most comfortable fabric I have ever worn and these are no exception. The only point of improvement I could offer Minus33 concerning these boxer briefs is concerning the cut. Please go study/look at other brands to see how they cut and assemble the various panels. Having a seam in the middle of the rear panel which tapers to a point at the bottom does not result in the most comfortable of fits! That said, even with this flaw, I am restocking my closet with these underwear. Not only are they super comfortable, they are perfect for trips since they dry so fast after washing. You could literally bring two pairs, wear one and wash the other. The wonders of merino wool...

all of it has been really good. For this product I have also tried Icebreaker ...
I have bought a lot of clothing from Minus33, all of it has been really good. For this product I have also tried Icebreaker and SmartWool. I wouldn't buy Icebreaker again, they don't last. My experience of many years and many different Minus33 products is they are great value for money, the last well and you simply cannot beat Merino wool for warmth.

I took L size and glad I did as the elastic just fits right
I'd give this product 4.5 stars if it existed, but definitely not 4, so I'm marking the 5 stars here :). I owe several merino items and they are a little rougher that this piece. I was afraid these undies will be itchy, but they are silk-smooth and not itchy at all. The only concern is that the elastic is a little tight, not stretchy enough comparing to the rest of the garment's size. I'm 5'11, 185 lbs with size 33 pants. I took L size and glad I did as the elastic just fits right,
