Very sturdy, but potentially hazardous
These seem very, very sturdy, but the edges are very sharp. Not ideal if you have young kids and/or are generally clumsy. Because the tension on the hinge is so strong, I feel like someone could really hurt themselves on the edge if they're not very careful. I purchased some sandpaper on Amazon to hopefully try and dull the edges. I'll update once I get around to this.Potential safety issue aside, I do think that these are very strong and also good value for the money. I just hope they will last longer than the plastic ones.

Clip Means Stay Shut
Clips, I keep forgetting to purchase them. Whenever I open a new cereal box, I think where is the bag clip I need? The same for chips, brown sugar, anything that comes in a bag that you will reuse. I perused kAmazon, and I found the clips I need.These clips will never, ever go bad. They are made of stainless steel, and have the best clip I have seen. They are heavy,and when they clip, they stay shut. I am finding, now,, that my family wants them for other uses. No, no, these will stay in the kitchen. They are durable
I bought this set of clips because I was tired of plastic ones always breaking. Especially if you use them in the freezer. Plastic one become brittle and snap, the steel ones do not. I bought the 3" wide ones because they secure better.

Love these, but agree with others that there are some sharp edges so just be careful, especially with kids. They have a good trip and are very solid.

They are very sharp and can slice your fingers if not careful. They are strong and hold tight but do not let children handle them

Really no reason these won't last a lifetime.
Unless you roll over these with a car, I can't see them ever wearing out. Strong spring, solidly built, and an overall good value.
