Driver Seat Bracket Repair Linkage for 2003-2007 Nissan Murano
Driver Seat Lifter Bracket Repair Linkage For 2003-2007 Nissan Murano was promptly shipped and arrived early. The bracket fit and works well; new bracket is much stronger at failure point than original bracket. It would be very helpful if instructions were provided, such as the Nissan Service Bulletin NTB05-43d (NHTSA Service Bulletin ID Number 10016000).I would suggest the seat mounting brackets (where seat bolts to vehicle) be covered (tape clean rags around ends) to prevent any scratches or damage to center console or plastic door panels when maneuvering seat out of vehicle. To prevent an inadvertent Air Bag deployment, don't forget to disconnect negative battery lead and wait approx. 3 minutes before disconnecting electrical connector (typically yellow) for Air Bag located in seat. There are YouTube videos on line that may help, "2006 Murano seat Repair" and "How To Replace Your Nissan Murano's Seat Frame... Step ..." It would also be helpful if you can obtain a copy of Nissan Service Bulletin NTB05-043d dated December 16, 2009; for 2003 - 2007 Murano; Driver Power Seat Repair. Service Bulletin is 30 pages of step by step instructions and illustrations on seat removal, bracket replacement and reinstallation. Supposable, it can be obtained from Nissan Help by subscribing to service for $10 - $15 fee. And I believe it can be requested on-line from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), problem is it takes about 6 weeks and there may be a fee (see below). But I've heard that there is typically no charge for less than 50 pages. Toll free phone number for NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline is 1-888-327-4236. You can download a pdf file of the first 9 pages of the Service Bulletin at the following link: http://ww2.justanswer.com/uploads/fixurnissan/2011-01-01_211532_04-07_murano_power_seat_bulletin_part_1.pdfNHTSA Fee Note:Fees and Copying ServicesBy authority listed in Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, Part 7, there are fees assessed by TIS for this service. We charge a standard labor charge of $50.00 per hour for requests involving computer searches, locating and copying documents. In addition, we charge duplication fees, which are $0.10 per page for paper-based or imaged documents. Some files are only available on microfiche; which means you will receive paper-based copies of microfiche sheets. Many simple questions can be answered free of charge by calling our toll-free NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236. Works for a 2005 Murano Driver's Side
If you're looking at this review, then you know why you're looking at this part.So. It's a PITA installation, but yes, you can save 1k or more by using this part on your Murano.Follow the YT videos and you'll do fine if you have half a brain.Mine fit fine, but the enameling on the metal was so thick that I had to work the moving joints free enough to move. It's possible that the chair motors might have done the same thing, but why stress them if I can save the 20 odd year old hardware the strain? Anyway, test yours to see if they operate smoothly and good luck.

They seem sturdier than the original.
Best value for the money

You can do this yourself!
It's fantastic to find an aftermarket product like this that fixes the manufacturer's mistake at a fraction of the price of taking it back to Nissan to be fixed. Im reading Nissan quoted $1500, but I didn't even bother checking. Under $100 for this? Perfect. It shipped very quickly, and once it arrived I used the YouTube video entitled "Murano Seat Bracket Link Assembly Removal/Replacement" which was very detailed. The product is very well made and looks to be better made in every respect than the failed bracket once I could compare both of them. The hardest part was pushing and holding the foam back in order to remove the nuts under the seat bottom. A set of metric flat ratchet wrenches makes this possible, and I would go further and recommend a set of wrenches where the head flexes also. I think if the wrench head could flex a little, then holding back the foam wouldn't have been that hard. I saw these at HD when buying my set but made the mistake of buying the regular ones. Still, no big deal, the ratchet set worked. Specifically only needed the 12mm and the 14mm wrenches. All in all this job took me around four hours from opening the drivers door to closing it after the job was done. Fantastic, I would absolutely do this again.

I expect this seat part to last longer than the remaining lifetime of the vehicle.
Replaced the original broken seat part on my Nissan. Superior re-design of the poorly designed original. It would have been an even better value at about $15 - $20 less expensive.

Seems well made, but instructions would be nice
I'm happy with the product, but it would be nice if I'd know how to set the seat position adjustment screws before removing the seat from the car (once the old bracket has broken the adjustment servos can leave the seat in position from which it can't be completely re-assembled). Don't be shy about taking a couple of picture of the wiring harness attachment points before you begin, and definitely remove the top spring frame and seat back early in order to make it easier to access all of the necessary bolts (I tried leaving these on to make reassembly quicker... that was a mistake).

Great fix!
I read that a broken driver seat bracket is common in Murano's. This thing is perfect, a bit of a job to replace, but SO worth the effort. We're not the most mechanically inclined, but with the help of a youtuber, we got it done.

By nature of where this thing attaches on the bottom of the seat - it didn't go on easily, but after a hour of busting knuckles and sweating, the old, sheared bracket was off and this one was reattached. The seat has not moved a bit since then - whereas it used to shift, move and bounce with every time you sat it in, hit a speedbump or took a turn.In short, if you are moderately handy - you can do this yourself and save a lot of money. The bracket itself is much bigger and stronger and I don't think this one should ever give me any problems.
