Muffling sound: There's no problem with voice clarity if you close the case while you're on a call. For some reason, with the case open people tell me I sound muffled, but it's absolutely fine when you close the case (and then your face can't accidentally hit any buttons anyway). I have not experienced this issue on speakerphone, no complaints whether the case is open or closed.Shock protection: My hands often lose grip, so I drop my phone A LOT and have hard floors in my home. I've drop my phone several times already and the case has protected it very nicely, not a scratch on it, and I haven't noticed any problems with my phone's performance.Classy case: I've never had a folio style case before, but I really wanted a classy look, and I've gotten a lot of compliments on it. That being said, it's a tiny bit tricky to take pictures with the rear camera just because you've got to hold the case open but not folded across the back. I am left handed though, so I bet it's not a problem for right handed people since the case opens with the flap on the left. This is not a criticism of this product in particular, just a comment on folio cases in general.No screen protector: I was hesitant to try a case without built in screen protection, but since there's a folio flap covering the screen when not in use, my screen has stayed in perfect condition. My biggest chance of scratching the screen is when I'm carrying the phone in my purse or pocket, so it's not a worry at all with this case, and I finally, for the first time, get to enjoy the sight and touch of a naked screen. I know it's wrong, but it feels so right.

This is a great phone case. Otterbox usually ships quality products. I only knocked off a star because of the problems with talking on the phone. You have to close the flap to cover the front when talking on the phone. If you do not and fold the flap to the back the person on the phone will be unable to hear you. This is because the flap will cover one of the speakers on the back. Other than that, the case was great.

Nice looking case that covers the screen. Never liked carrying a cell phone with the screen exposed. Feel like it is an accident looking for a place to happen. There are a few things you need to know before using this case which could cause some problems.First thing you need to know. Took me a few calls, with everyone saying they had trouble hearing me, before I determined that the cover has to be closed over the phone for it to be the communication device it was designed to be. On the iPhone XR, with the case open, cover turned back against the outside of the case, a mic used for noise cancelation is covered and that will cause problems. Close the case after you dial/answer and everything is fine.Second thing you need to know. The case cover is held closed with a magnetic piece built into the fold over part of the cover, which attracts the metal band seen on the outside edge of the case. Works great, but if you are using any app that makes use of the compass in the phone, like SkySafari, you will have problems. You have to open the cover and keep it open like you would if reading a hardback book. Doing this seems to get the magnet far enough away to avoid compass problems, and the apps using the compass seem to work fine, or at least the apps are accurate enough that I can't tell there is a problem without more precise measurement.

My daughter gave me her used case, and I liked it so much that I had to get another before the one I have breaks. I like the feature of the flip case where I can have it open and can easily flip it shut if I want to cover what I am reading or listening to. It has a low profile so can be stored or transported in small spaces. I do have a screen protector (bought separately so I don't have to be concerned of breaking the screen.

Did not last long a couple weeks really started to show signs so wearing out

I have had multiple iPhones and multiple Otterbox cases. I used a Strada series case on my 6S plus for several years so I did not hesitate to choose it again. As far as I’m concerned, the capacity for keeping an ID or credit card in the case is one, regardless of other claims.Pros: this one appears to be made of the same quality materials as my last one. The leather held up very well with only minor patina after 2+ years. The phone was in perfect condition at the end considering I do drop it from time to time. (That’s why I get an Otterbox) The card slot on the inside cover now has an added cut to assist in getting a credit card or ID out which was difficult on my previous Strada case. I can now push it out rather than just pulling on it. It is also relatively slim compared to a defender case and is easy to slide in and out of pockets. It’s not too bulky for daily life.Cons: the case no longer can be used as a stand to prop the phone up for viewing. Not sure why this was done but I am guessing the rear magnets may have impeded wireless charging that the new iPhone XR can do??? I could be wrong on that guess. Time will tell if that’s a deal breaker on this case.Overall, I am very pleased with the design and quality and rate this as 5 stars.

Had this same style case and wanted to replace (had for a while and was pretty beat up). Hard to find, and even harder to find in a color other than brown (which blended in with my decor so made it easy to lose on a couch etc). This is just like the original item. It's a tough case, protects my phone from drops and falls. Didn't want to try anything else. Had to be an Otterbox, and I like this style because it covers the entire phone but the front opens, so it's the best of both worlds for me. Also "thin" enough to still fit in car holders, etc. Would buy again.

Reasons to buy this case: it is thin for a flip case; it protects the screen and offers true Otterbox protection for drops; for the style of case, it is light.You need to know: the leather is paper thin and scratches easily; it does not have a premium feel or look; only room for one card, and YOU WILL STRUGGLE to remove it and accidentally bump the screen while doing so; it is not designed as a stand but you might be lucky on the right surface.I would recommend buying it only if you want a case to protect the screen in your pocket or purse. Don’t buy it for style or to carry a card.

I have two of these cases for my work and personal iphones XRs. The case is very stylish. The light colour of the leather is a bit shocking and disappointing at first (I got the brown), but after a month or so of handling it starts to get darker to a more pleasing tone. It is the thinest of all otterbox cases I think, but it significantly adds to the size of the phone. Unfortunate, but it is a small price to pay for keeping your phone safe. I am a technician and I actually dropped my work phone 8 feet down. Luckily no scratch or screen damage thanks to the screen cover. Something I noticed is it is very prone to scratches, so I would try to pick it up and my short nails would somehow scratch it and leave a mark. Luckily after a few days the mark disappears and goes back as new. I guess it is the nature of the leather. I definitely recommend it. That is why I bought the second one for my personal iphone.

Excellent produit comme tous les produits otterbox. Le rabat protège bien la vitre lorsque le téléphone est dans une poche ou dans le sac à main et l’espace prévu pour une carte est parfait. L’aimant maintient le rabat bien fermé.Bref je l’adore.Après près d’un an d’utilisation, je l’aime toujours autant. Il est toujours aussi beau, solide et durable. Je vais essayer de me procurer le même quand je remplacerai mon téléphone. Excellent achat.

I had a smooth black leather Strada case for my I6 that had a strong magnet and protected very well. However this case almost had to be pushed closed each time as the magnet wasn't strong enough to catch on its own. The exterior was rough black leather that would hide scratches but I preferred the look and feel of the smooth leather. Returned this one and bought the weathered brown leather one that came from a different supplier and seems to have a stronger magnet- not as strong as my I6 case but better than the black XR case. Otherwise, this case fit the phone very well and all functions worked as they should.

It is almost perfect. I had the same case for my 6S and it WAS perfect in every way. Got it here for rly XR and the door doesn’t quite close perfectly 😢. Not a game changer, not going to send it back. But I think maybe the magnet needs to be a bit stronger for the size of the door.
