Insufficient steps for a child to learn to draw
It's a learn to draw book but lacks enough steps to actually learn to draw. There are basic shapes to start animals but those jump to (great) finished drawings without enough intermediate steps. There are good examples of how to use light and shading but I think it expects too much of a '7+' audience. The drawings are great but I needed more steps for my (soon to be) 9 year old to follow. Reluctantly returned.

My son loved this! He is an artist in the making and it has very clear easy instructions to teach him how to draw animals. He has spent hours teaching himself from this book.
