Hooray for honesty!
An excellent book. It conveys such a simple and important idea -- it's ok to wonder about things we don't know. It's about honesty.Sounds uncontroversial, right? But religion teaches the opposite. It tells our kids they MUST have the "right" opinion about issues such as our origins, the afterlife, etc. It says "you must agree, or God will be mad and you'll be in big trouble, forever."The truth, however, is that we don't know what happens after death. Why can't we just be honest about this?-Anyhow, the book doesn't doesn't go into that territory. It stays very simple. Mom and daughter take a walk and appreciate the beauty of our world and wonder about it all. It's an elegant and valuable story.

Perfect for Kids Asking Big Questions!
I absolutely love this book. My husband and I were indoctrinated in a very dogmatic cult as children. When we broke free, we knew we wanted a different way to teach our children. When our 4 year old started asking “the big questions” I went looking for a book like this. Such a great way to teach kids to think for themselves and marvel at the beauty of the universe!

This is an absolutely essential book to read to your kids, I bought it for my 4 years old son, who is a very curious and smart child. I was brought up in a very conservative religious household and I wish such books were available during my childhood, life certainly would have been more interesting and more mysteries would be there to wonder about. I learnt later that pre scripted/ memorized answers act as a killer to children natural inquisitive instinct. This book is written as a conversation between a mother and a daughter, as a child educator and as a mother I find this very effective. Conversations enhance children emotional intelligence, it also teach them that their opinions matter. In a culture that promotes perfectionism and competitive thinking, my child is always proud to ask questions and is not ashamed to say I don't know. Thank you Anna for this wonderful book both my son and I enjoyed it greatly.

A loverly start
I bought this book for my daughter who is aprox 2 1/2, she is quite fussy but she loved this book strait off. She loved the pictures. The reasons i like it are as follows, it introduces kids to different types of knowing, for example we know the moon doesn't float off because of gravity, why is there gravity? Not even Eva's mum knows. Then eva asked how many grains of sand there are in the world, again Eva's mum doesn't know, but there is potentially an answer to that question yet we have no way to work it out. However just because we don't know the exact answer doesn't mean we know nothing. In conclusion it teaches children that mummy and daddy don't know everything and there are different ways of knowing things. Only reason i didn't give 5 * was because i felt the book was slightly to short

Wonder and it's ok to say "I don't know"
This was perfect for a Sunday School lesson I was leading... or would have been if it had been delivered to my house. It wasn't, but I'm keeping the book because this is the 2nd time this year I've used it.

Excellent Book!
I was very excited to hear of the content of this book before it came out. As the author mentions, we live in a world where "I don't know" seems an unacceptable answer. People tend to come to conclusions about things prematurely to avoid not knowing. My wife and I are raising three boys and I was thrilled to find a book that placed value on wonder and curiosity about the world. I read the book to my two older boys tonight (7 and 5 years old). It was awesome to see how engaged they were in this book. We talked for a long time afterwards about things that they wonder about. We discussed healthy ways to look for answers to their questions, but also about the importance of embracing wonder in the absence of answers. This was truly a unique reading experience with my sons tonight.

Great book, great message, great package.
The book has beautiful illustrations from cover to cover. The message of the book is lovely as well and is an excellent primer for teaching your little one about adopting a growth mindset. I've given it as a gift to several new parents I know and look forward to reading it with my own offspring in a few years.
