Nice product. A little too big.
The speaker wire I have consists of 2 16 gauge stranded (i.e. not solid) wires, each with their own plastic jackets (one black, one red). Both of these wires run together inside of a white plastic jacket. The white looks pretty good, but it kind of looks ugly at the ends where the red and black wires split out. Just looks unfinished. Thus the need for these wire pants. They work great. I had to install a total of 8. 4 where my wires go into a wall plate and 4 more where the are connected to the other wall plate. They look much nicer than the plain wires just coming straight out of the white jacket. The white to black transition looks a little funny to me, and I am thinking about covering the wires with black "tech flex" to give them a more consistent look, but that is just my preference. BONUS: my cats can no longer chew on my wires!!! Before I installed these, my dumb cats would sometimes chew on the wires right where they went into the terminators (for who knows what reason). They don't seem to mess with these though, and even if they did, these things are pretty thick so I doubt it would do any harm. The only complaint is that they are too big for my 16 gauge wire. I am not reducing my rating because this was my own fault. It clearly says these are for 10 gauge wire. It really doesn't look that bad, and I think the extra space might actually work out if I decide to wrap the wires in tech flex. I wanted to tuck the 2 "Y" ends into my terminators (banana plugs), but there was too much material to fit them in. So I just took some scissors and split the tubes in half, from the ends to about 1/2 and inch back, and cut off one half of the tube. For example if you were looking at the tube head on, the first half inch would be a "U" shape instead of an "O" shape (hope that makes sense, lol). Once I did that, I was able to tuck the ends into the terminators just fine. Bottom line: I would definitely recommend these. Just make sure you check your wire size first.

Needed pliars to install with thicker jackets on 12 guage cables, but happy with results
These Y boots appear to be high quality and they look great to finish speaker connectors. I used the boots with two types of speaker wire: Monoprice Monolith 12 AWG and KnuKoncepts Kord cable (also 12 AWG). Had I just applied these on the Monolith cable I would have given 5 stars. Those cables are narrow and stiff and the boots slid on easily and installed in two minutes flat. Had I only used the Knu Concepts cable, I would have rated the product as 1 star. The jacket was thick on that particular cable and neither WD40 nor soft soap were helpful. Instead of 2 minutes per cable, it took about 15 minutes per cable. So that was over an hour to get 4 boots installed. The only way I could make them fit was to insert one side fully, then cut the middle of the second side of the boot and use pliars to pull the cable. I later cut a large portion off the boot legs to make the process a little faster (not sure why I didnt think of doing that in the first place). I cannot believe I almost stopped and threw the cable and boots in the garbage. I came sooo close. I also ordered a set of 10AWG cables thinking they might be a better fit. However, someone else mentioned they 10 gauge boots seem to jump up too many sizes and end up being too loose. The finished product looks and sounds great. But not without some cursing from myself and wife who tried to fot 12 AWG Kord Cable into a 12 Guage boot made by the same manufacturer. I did reach out to the customer service. Their response was basically "the cables should slide on easily, you might need wire lube". Not exactly helpful folks! Lastly, I do not mind the logo. It looks no worse than Audio Quest or other companies that stamp their products. Overall, I am happy. And given I installed on two very different types of 12 AWG cable, I now understand why the boots have 5 star and 1 star ratings. LOL

Very nice boots...
I got a package of these, just in case I needed them on a speaker wire project I was doing. I thought the split leads to be a tad long from the pictures, but turns out they are more or less spot on. I instilled them on some 10 gauge speaker wire I bought from them as well. (From their web site. [...]) Anyway these make me look like a pro and the fit and finish is very nice. I know these have more to do with looks than function, but pride in your work never goes out of style. I would recommend these, and I will buy another package as well. As a side note: their 480 strand OFC 10 gauge silver plated speaker wire is just killer nice. Very, very nice. And these boots, though not made for home use, but perhaps aimed toward the mobile audio group, worked flawlessly in my install. Very nice people as well... always a nice touch. Enjoy!

Looks great with their 'Karma Kable' and connectors. -Wire-pull lubricant (or similiar) is required but not included
This is really for aesthetics more than anything and it does a good job of making the cable connections look clean and 'high-end'/professional. Given size and 'roundness' of the base I'm assuming it is specifically designed for the company's 12 gauge Karma Cable, which I used it with, though of course it could likely fit any 12 gauge cable, though possibly not as 'cleanly'. The Karma Cable, Boot, and their connectors I bought work well together for a very clean and high end look. Issues preventing 5 star: - While it is seemingly designed for the Karma Cable, and left and right cables have some lubricant on them after you cut back the outer plastic, there is no human way to get wires to push through without filling the insides with wire-pull lube as it is sooooo snug and the surface of the wire and boot are very 'grippy'. Some other extremely slippery product, possible some thicker soaps, might work. You must get the lubricant fully into the left and right challenges of the boot (and then apply to the wires and the base of the boot) to be able to do it. - The prominent white brand includes the graphic and full 'KnuKoncepts.com" which (imo) makes it feel cheaper that just the graphic aspect of the logo and/or the name without the ".com" appended. It is only printed on one side fortunately so you can have that side facing down on any connection that is visible (like rear surrounds).

Now this is what I was looking for.
This is exactly what it looks like, a fitting for terminated wire ends for those who like to manufacture their own speaker wires. I use strictly 12 awg wire for speaker wire. And these fit 12 awg wire, perfectly. When coupled with to speaker wire, these make for a nice finish to the speaker cable. These are reasonably priced and easy to work with. They give a speaker cable that finished look a home DIY'er looks for. One can finish each of the ends with shrink wrap to give that finished look one likes others to see. Very nice and all at a decent delivered price.

Not difficult to install at all, just use some lube
These are great, super clean look to my install and super easy to slide on, I have no idea why anyone says otherwise. I applied about a pea size dab of synthetic cable lube which is cheap and you can order it here on Amazon and they slipped on without any effort. Bith 12 and 16 gauge Karma Kable and boots worked perfectly then a little red and black shrink wrap at the ends for pos/neg and it looks like a pro install! 5 stars all the way.

DOESNT F'N FIT
I have been using 12g cable from this company for 4 years and decided to try the Y Boot. IT DOESNT FIT! Imagine selling an item marked 12g BOOT that doesn't fit your 12g wire. You can't pull it through even with WIRE LUBE! DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY if you need this to fit the blue 12g wire.

Great way to dress up speaker wire
These "Wire Pants" give you a professional looking installation, rather than just splitting your speaker wire. To use these, you split the cable as you normally would, sliding each "leg" into the wire pants...in my experience, things marked "12 AWG" aren't always the same diameter, so sometimes, it's a tight fit. I use a small bit of WD-40 to help slide the split cables into the pants. With a few extra inches protruding out the end of each leg, you can then attach whatever connectors you want (spades, lugs, bananas, etc). As a final finishing touch, I use a heat-shrink electrical tape on each leg...one side red, the other black...so that I can easily distinguish the polarity of each wire. Definitely worth the few dollars per cable, and gives you that professional look of really expensive cables without having to spend a fortune.
