If you are a rock hound like me and my girl this Colorado field guide is perfect. Small, good quality paper and pics for using in the field. The rocks and minerals are shown like how you find it in nature and the cleaned up look. 5 stars

I liked that I could find a rock identification book specific to the state of Colorado. I also bought this book along with a children’s book on rocks by the same author called Rock Collecting for Kids(An Introduction to Geology) Colorado Rocks and Minerals is loaded with pictures accompanied with easy to understand factual explanations. I would definitely would recommend this book for anyone who loves looking at pretty rocks and wants to know something more about them.

Nice little book with decent pictures. If only my eyes were younger and stronger. Being a field guide, the book is small, with small pics and text on example pages. If the pics and small text were of a little better clarity (for older eyes), then 5 stars.

A nice guide to identify local gems and minerals. There's a lot of general information not specific to Colorado, but useful none the less. Many photos that lack necessary color and definition, as if they were photos digitized at the advent of photo scanning technology, otherwise accurate, and well organized.

We have been recently rock/mineral hunting and needed a way to identify some of the cool stuff we were finding. This book is a must have if you plan on looking for different rocks and minerals l!
