Cheap and simple
For the price, you can't really complain. The fabric is a tad stiff (not as much "spring" as others) and the width isn't as comfortable for a good asymmetrical lie (I'm 6 ft., 200 lbs.), but for quick backyard fun or a day out in nature, it's great. It folds up easily into it's integrated pocket which is nice and is about the size of two softballs stacked on each other and can be smushed smaller. The metal S hooks and the gathered end cordage are a bit overkill in size and weight for this type of hammock. IF you plan on using this for more "serious" hangs (I'd recommend other models by far, though), you'll be better served with a closing attachment clip like a full-strength carabiner. Lighter cord, like good paracord (whoppie slings are superb, but again, overkill for this level of hang IMO), would also be beneficial at the ends. In general, Grand Truck's gathered end support material is a bit over-the-top in weight across their lineup in my opinion (esp. on the Skeeter Beater Pro), but it's cost-effective to produce. The system is also not as easy to fine-tune as it could be. Again, a whoopie sling suspension would make it easier, however, I recognize that all of this really pushes a cheap hammock beyond the scope of it's original intention. These add-ons would easily costs more than the hammock itself.I leave two straps in the trees out back and I throw this up to lounge while tossing disks with my dogs, etc. I don't think I'd recommend this for an overnight or extended camping trip as it's not the most comfortable or feature-rich hammock out there. However, lightening up the ends with paracord and biners, could make this a great emergency/BOB companion. I'll likely toss a modified-end version of this in my day pack along with an emergency bivy as a just-in case-shelter. At least you'd be semi cumfy and off the ground if a forced overnight crept up on you.If you're wanting something that you plan on also using for camping, etc., I'd look higher up the ladder. I own several hammocks including some from Clark Jungle Hammocks, Wilderness Logics and Warbonnet Outdoors, but in the bang-for-buck (esp. for newer hangers) arena, the Grand Trunk Skeeter Beater Pro is hard to beat. It'll run you about $50 or so more as of this post, but it's bigger, has a higher load rating, is more comfortable and includes integrated mosquito netting. As with this hammock, the Pro needs modified ends to make setup and adjustment easier and the overall package lighter, but it's not necessary out of the box. I WOULD however replace the included heavy metal clips with some full-strength climbing biners (about $5 each or so) to knock some quick ounces off. It will run you another $20 or so to exchange the gathered end system to a Whoopie sling mod, but it's worth the money for me.I want to get a few more nights in the backcountry in the Pro before writing my review, but it's a great hammock so far and if you're looking for something more versatile, it's a great option to consider. So, a day at the river/lake, something to toss up in the backyard, or as a decent emergency shelter in a day pack, this is a good investment for the money. If you you're thinking more toward overnight stays, I'd highly recommend moving up the line some.

I like the Skeeter and double more
I bought 2 of these hammocks to give to my daughters this past Christmas. We were able to try these out this past weekend since the weather has finally warmed up. It is definitely lightweight, but I have mixed emotions about this one. It doesn't have the stretch/give that my Double or Skeeter Beeter hammocks have and isn't quite as comfortable. Not sure how I feel about the material holding up long term as well even though it has given me no reason to feel this way yet.I didn't do enough research into these before I bough them and didn't realize that they do not come with the hanging straps so anyone buying these just because of the cheap price need to take that into consideration as well. Seeing as cheap straps cost nearly as much as this hammock I should have known and don't knock the hammock for my mistake.Instead of using these for hammock backpacking as originally planned, I think I will instead use them on trips where I take a tent and use them more as something to lounge in during the day. In that role they should be perfect, and I won't have to worry about them possibly failing and leaving me sleeping in the dirt. The cheaper lightweight straps that came with my Double and Skeeter will work perfect for that since I've upgraded to different straps for them. I will also replace the s hooks with some Black Diamond carabiners that I've ordered.

The material is nice and light and breathable
Just received mine a day or so ago, so these are very early impressions, but I am loving this hammock so far.The material is nice and light and breathable, though the trade-off being it is only rated to 250 pounds. I can feel a slight breeze through it, so it is nice and cool on these unseasonably warm days we are already getting here.It is definitely a single-occupancy set up (meaning it almost feels cramped, think the go-to word is "cozy") but I'm 6'8" tall, so a normal individual should feel fine. That being said, even with my large frame it is still very comfortable.I did not buy this for camping (though I love the idea and will have to find time to get away with it) but have selected an ideal spot at home. Did not get the hanging kit (sold separately, no idea what's in it) but 3 minutes of rope cutting and knotting, and I now have a nice set up between trees that is easy to put up and take down. Just a loop around each one, no drilling or damage required. In all, yes it is a light weight feeling rig (think it is around 12 ounces-ish) so no idea on life expectancy for it, but it is very comfortable for me, and has a great price on it for what I have received. Top marks from me!Plus it has a compact little duffle that it packs away into, surprisingly compact really. The fact it went back in with no effort was actually surprising. A rolled up tee shirt takes up almost as much space.

Decent Hammock For the Price
So as a few comments mention above, one thing that strikes you is how thin the material feels. I've been really careful not to recklessly jump on when getting into this thing. It feels like it could tear if you weren't overly careful. Also, be aware that no straps are included so you may want to have that sort of equipment ready so you can use it out of the box. I had to buy the Trek Lite straps - they work really well.Having said that, I've taken this camping twice and also used it in my backyard. So far I've had no issues and enjoy using it whenever I can. It packs down really small and doesn't weigh too much so I've taken it backpacking even though I had a tent. Overall, for the price I don't think you can go wrong. I'm pretty satisfied with the purchase and would recommend it to anyone looking for a starter hammock.

It lasted 5 years
It broke on me today, my young son who is about half the hammock age was jumping around in it and finally broke some seems.I've been using this for camping every summer for the past 5 years and it has held up remarkably well. I am very satisfied with what I paid for it.

Unbelievable! Incredibly durable and comfortable! Screw tents! BUY A HAMMOCK!
Hammock Camping is REAL camping! Why haul around a big tent? Why go through the hassle of setting up tents with poles, on uneven uncomfortable ground? I've been using this Hammock for years now. Sleep diagonally, set up ropes about head height, so you can easly sit down on it like a chair/couch. In cool weather or wind, add a blanket beneath you for that bottom draft. Light weight. Comfortable. And you can set up anywhere, even in wet marshy areas, because you're off the ground! No more searching for the perfect flat grass patch, or hauling around padding for your tent floor.

Nice hammock! Very comfortable
Really awesome hammock! I bought this for a lightning deal of $15 and it is absolutely awesome. Brought it with me camping a few times and its definitely a cool little thing to have. Surprisingly very comfortable, the biggest issue I had with it, are the attachment to the tree or object. The cord used to attach the hammock is very short which made it difficult to put up. I just got some extra cord I had laying around and used that and it works flawlessly. I would recommend it to someone looking for a cheap hammock to use once in a while.
