Q: Is this cruelty free?

It appears so! On the container, it says: "tested on Megababes, never on animals" :)). It's a great product, best I've tried so far.

Q: Baking soda or no baking soda? Should I use this one or the geo?

This one does not have baking soda . Geo does have it but I personally have not used it to know how well it would work . I actually stopped using Megababe because it made my the skin under my arm darker . I found that I had to re apply several times to prevent odor .

Q: How does it smell? Anything like roses?

Yes, it has a slight hint of a rose smell :)
