Excellent product with very good grip!
Got this for my elderly father to help pull his socks on all the way. He uses a sock puller to get them 90% of the way there but uses this small gripper to get under the sock grip it and pull the sock the rest of the way up. Buecause the jaw fits into a little slot when it clos3s it wil grab the edge of a sock very securely without it slipping out of the grip. We tried 5 different types and brands and this one is all around the best grip!. It's also good for picking up things just out of reach and the short length makes it very portable. We bought extra to keep one in the car (for drive up atm use) and one by his easy chair and a 3rd one hangs from a hook we added to his walker. Highly recommend!

A post hip replacement must
After having my right hip replaced I was given a bag of goodies that were to help with everyday activities such as getting dressed or picking up items too low to grab without bending over. One item was the shorter version of this grabber. While it was helpful, it was a little shorter than I felt was needed. I thought I'd try a different brand and got one by EZPIK. The EZPIK turned out to be a complete waste of money as it broke the first time, I used it to pull a blanket over my legs. Since the 26" version of the Sammons Preston seemed adequate, I bought the longer version and have been very happy with it. The jaws do not open as far as some of other brands, but it has proven to be very useful and much stronger than the crappy EZPIK.

Nice reacher
Perfect reacher, a bit shorter at 15 inches which makes grabbing things closer easier than trying to get a 22 inch one in places requiring less length, well made, nice.

What a joy I was hoping to see these
The size is perfect for me. Between 3 failed shoulder replacements. I must be a very strange looking person…you can always hope or imagine a 3 shouldered driver. My first right shoulder replacement had to be removed as a reversal was required after all. My right shoulder was a reverse also.Add in Parkinson’s disease and lots of arthritis I wasn’t able to sit in my Honda CRV and reach up high enough to pull down the sun visor. Here Amazon came to my rescue taa daa: 1 foot long reachers!!! The moment I got them I headed to my CRV sat down and was able to pull down the sun visor. I can adjust my rear view mirror, I can open and close the vents for air flow I can even press the button to open the sun roof and pull back the cover to let the air flow in. It’s been years since I was able to those things!!! The quality is just the same as the 3’ sizes it is merely shorter, which makes it even lighter. I keep two of these and 2- 3 foot reachers in the car at all times. I never know when I’ll drop one and have to get the extra reacher to retrieve it.

Great tool but... they should go back to the spring return made of steel on the claw
This is such a handy tool and I use it constantly and that little hook on the end is great for removing my socks and tubular bandage at night at bed time. Tell me why they stopped using that little spring for the return mechanism on the claw. That piece of plastic shaped like a piece of ribbon candy is weak and finally failed. I didn't want to buy another one like it that I knew that wouldn't last. So I went into a state of imagineering ,how could I make this my favorite tool again. So I took an elastic band from a bunch of broccoli and I removed the clip that I could attach to my cane and attached it to the underside of the grabber. With that in place I attached the elastic band to that and the claw and put a zip tie around the aluminum to keep it from moving. Now if it only had that spring I would give it ****************** stars's !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Original One Is Better Than The Newer Crap Design.
I had the original Sammons Preston reacher for years ,until it finally bit the dust. My sister still uses the same one that she inherited from my mother. So, I recommend the older original Sammons Preston reacher. The only improvement is a better wider handle. My biggest complaint is that the design has been cheapened at every turn. For example, the original had a metal spring and the new one has vinyl spring. The older design would snap open whenever the was trigger was released. The "new" one barely reopens the grabber jaws, and never has it fully opened the jaws. And don't plan on ever using the weak ass magnet. The original grabber was a very light weight reacher, and it is very handy. And it is still around for sale. I would recommend getting a more robust reacher for heavier jobs.I absolutely do not recommend this Sammons Preston Easireach II Reacher. Buy the older design, it is better.Update:My opinion of the grabber got worse. About the same time as the above review, the plastic end(that contains the magnet) just snapped off. Since jaw was the length as the end of the broken plastic tip, it was impossible to grab anything. In an effort to get some use out of it, I cut the jaw to match the new shorter tip. It now "works", but it is even less useful. It is destined for the trash can. Again, don't buy this waste of time and effort !! ZERO stars is my review.

Works great, but
This is the best style of these to get, the pull apart ones are ridiculous. These work great until you realize it’s sitting across the room or you can’t find it then it gets a little frustrating, I recommend you order two.
