A great air fryer
After much consideration and online research, we bought this Philips Air Fryer. My husband wanted a large capacity, I wanted something that would let him eat the fried foods he loves and me not suffer from grease-induced heartburn woes. This air fryer is all we could have wished for, and more. It is a bit difficult to get grease off the burner element at the top of the air fryer after a bacon-frying session, but otherwise easy to use and keep clean. My first try at using it was to make blackberry hand pies, a treat I remembered from my youth. I found a recipe online, made it up, and the results were terrific. So easy to do, the results outside-crispy, inside-moist, and absolutely delicious. We find ourselves using this air fryer several times a week, and not a single thing we've made has been less than delicious. Fried chicken came out amazing, battered halibut filets were better even than deep-fat fried, chicken-fried steaks were stupendous. And not a hint of heartburn, either! The size is workable for keeping on a counter top, we just push it against the back wall when not in use, pull it forward 5" or so when we're cooking with it. The top is flat, the black surface is easily kept clean and looks great with my other black kitchen appliances. The basket is very large, and you can get quite a bit of food in it at once. It says you can cook a 5.5 lb whole chicken in it, though we haven't tested that out yet. It has a pause feature that lets you open the unit, shake the contents around or turn pieces, then resume cooking as before without having to re-set everything. The basket assembly easily comes apart for cleaning, and it all goes in the dishwasher just fine. The fryer is amazingly quiet when running, and the controls on the front panel are easy to learn to use. My one and only complaint is that the cooking temperature is adjustable only in 25 degree increments. Most recipes call for much finer-tuning of temperature, and we've had to learn to make adjustments for that each time we work with a new recipe. Having the ability to adjust temperature from 350 to 360, for instance, would eliminate having to keep detailed notes and trial-and-error runs to get cooking times just right for greatly differing temperatures than the recipe calls for.We chose the Philips brand because all of the serious online reviews (from America's Test Kitchen, for instance) rated the Philips at the top of their lists, as reliable, durable, and easy to use. It was more pricey than other brands, true, but we figured that we would be using it for a long time to come and would be glad we paid the extra for the quality that Philips delivers. This air fryer has added a welcome and delicious new dimension to our culinary world.

Great Quality. You Get What You Pay For!
I love this air fryer. It’s easy to use, easy to clean and has free recipes available for many Phillips products on their website. This Unit Cooks amazingly. I purchased this model 5 yrs ago and it’s still performing as if it was new. I do wipe it out after most heavy cook sessions to keep it working and no build up.

Perfect grill, the best!
Perfect grill, the best!I like to cook almost all products in it, it is very fast and tasty. And it is also very easy to wash - I just put everything in the dishwasher.

A healthier way to cook
I have a brevil convection toaster oven and it's literally the same thing as an air fryer with larger capacity and the ability to actually crisp like a normal broiler. I was really hesitant to get an air fryer because it's just another thing taking up space on my counter (and this thing is pretty big). However, my wife being the way she is, bought it anyways and I begrudgingly used it just to prove a point. She also got the air fryer basket liners (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09WXLZND3) and they fit perfectly in this unit's basket. So, i decided to make some chicken wings and right off the bat, it held 1/2 the amount that my oven holds and it only goes up to 400oF. Still, i cooked it for 8min at 250 then 10min at 400. The wings came out perfectly moist, cooked to the bone, and much juicier than I ever thought possible. HOWEVER, the downside is that the air fryer just couldn't get that crispy chicken skin like the infrared broilers in my over. If my oven wings were a 10, I'd say this fryer's wings came out to be an 8.5.I tried it with hashbrowns, same thing. It taunted me with the possibility of a nice crunch but it was just almost crispy. lol this was after 15 min at 400oF. My convection over was crispy in 8 min at 450.Now, after having it for about a month, here's the thing. I'm still using it despite the obvious drawbacks of it being a hot air cooker. The benefit is that I just use an olive oil spray to "wet" the food while it cooks so it crisps up and I'm noticing that everything I cook is way less greasy. Cleanup takes 1/10th the time over my oven and I'm actually splitting my cooking time between the two for small meals just for myself.Overall, I'm a convert. I'm actually liking the fact that it heats up much quicker than my oven and it's a set it and forget it type of machine. I don't necessarily worry about things burning anymore and I don't have to clean as much, especially with the liners. The star I took of was for the baseket size (which is already one of the largest baskets out there) and for the physical dimensions of this thing (1/2 the size of my microwave!).If you want to cook healthier and want to prepare smaller portions without all the after cooking cleaning, this may be a great buy for you. I wanted to hate it but, yet again, should have listened to the wife. lol
