great for cast iron tables, ways, and hand tools, and chainsaw chains
I used to use renaissance wax on my cast iron, but I always battled surface rust given a short amount of time. I have now changed my practice, and use this CRC 3-36 product now. For the first time, I spent a good amount of time with a green scrubbie and making sure as much could soak in and lift off any dirt or grime that had been there. I then left a film on the cast iron overnight, and wiped it the following morning. So far, I've used it on my bandsaw table and lathe bed ways, as well as on my hand planes, and it looks great. I used this recently when refurbishing antique stanley hand planes, and it worked great as a sanding lubricant as well as cleaner to help lift off rust and prevent future rust. After I finish using a tool now, I keep a towel with CRC 3-36 soaked in it, and I do a wipe down. I expect this to maintain the condition of my cast iron machinery and hand tools, as well as keep them smooth to reduce friction and sticking. I opted for the gallon for value, but I don't use it directly from the gallon bottle. I poured from the gallon into a spray bottle, and that is what I use directly. So far, I think it is a great product. If anything changes in my experience, I'll update this review! ------------- 2/14/21 Update. I'm just about out of my first gallon, which might seem quick, but I've found many additional uses for this product. I got into chainsaw milling and have an MS661 with a 32" bar, 36" bar, and 56" bar with my Alaskan Mill. In total, I have around 15 chains in the rotation plus the chains for my smaller saw. After each use of the chainsaw, I clean and store the chain with a coating of CRC 3-36. This has helped with keeping the chains and the bars in good condition and preventing corrosion. I will say that when I'm turning freshly cut red oak on the lathe, the moisture that is released when turning as well as from the chips that land on the lathe bed can corrode through the coating of CRC 3-36, so I still have to be quick about clearing chips and cleaning the lathe bed when I've finished the rough turning of the green wood bowl blank. All that to say, I have a second gallon now, and I plan on continuing to use this for as much as I can to prevent corrosion and lubricate.

Good stuff.
If you have old metal kitchen cabinets with drawers, this could make them glide like never before. I've had excellent results using this on my kitchen drawers, and appreciate that it's NFS rated for use around food. (Obviously not on food contact surfaces, but it does seem to stay where you put it as long as you don't over do it) I also use this to keep my tools rust free. This has been doing a better job than WD-40 and some other products I've tried in the past.

Reliable lubricate and rust preventer
I use this around the house to lubricate various things, mostly tools, that will also benefit from rust prevention. Works well on bikes and bike chains, too. Recommend.

Great stuff
Much better than using light oil or WD40. It last pretty long and I use it on all of my machine surfaces, tools, etc. where surface rust is an issue.

Great Tool Lubricant
Was recommended this product from an online forum as an alternative to WD-40 or 3-n-1 as a tool lubricant; it is easy to apply to my tools like WD-40, and seems to last as long as 3-n-1. Keeps my hand tools lubricated and helps to prevent rust from forming as it's always super humid here in Florida.
