Recommended, felt like a quick read and in a format that kept topics clear and concise. No formal prior experience with rastafari beyond quotes and music or stuff in passing until this book and it felt worth the time and price no doubt.

Unfortunately a disappointment if you are an educated Caribbean/African individual. Quite colloquial and not very well researched. A number of ‘facts’ which are opinions. This book seems to have been written for European/white Americans who know nothing about black history and culture. Which is hardly anyone now. Quite dated subject based.For someone who’s family is Rastafarian, has been brought up in the culture and way of life and who is extremely educated on black and African history in general, who purchased this to gain more insight and to start taking my way of life a lot more seriously…..i have not been given any further education or insight unfortunately..Like i said, if you are completely new to Rastafarianism, as well as black/african history, you may get something out of this, i just don’t want other educated black professionals like myself being misconstrued.

I really needed this book to ensure that I was on the right path, which I knew in my heart. I'm starting the changes, little by little, seeking more truth every day
