A machine that shaped a generation
G Gundam has always been one of my favorite Gundam series. And here we have the roaring heart of the series, the Shining Gundam. A rather robust model design, featuring a screw-together/put together internal frame, multiple moving and interchangeable parts, and a startling attention to detail for a kit this old. Features include multiple hands (molded from rubber, very durable) a detachable Core Lander, and a (out of scale) statuette of the pilot, Domon Kasshu (painting required for this)Also features moving parts that allow transition to "Super Mode" (with interchangeable faceplate). Parts move quite easily. Only stiffness issues would be in the legs due to a piston type support system in the internal frame that contributes to knee movement. Arms are fully articulated (wrist, elbow, shoulder) Head is on a ball and socket joint (wide range of movement)Arms, Head and Legs can be easily seperated from the body for storage or for custom Gunpla designs. Truly a work of art.

So happy!
Ok first off the kit is old. Not surprising cause the anime is from 1994. That being said for an old kit it's beautiful. The articulation is amazing and the joints all have screws. I know this could be a turn off for some people but for someone like me who likes to repose my gunpla every other day it's means that I can pose it as many times as I want and the joints will stay strong. If they do get loose like all you gotta do is take the the armor off and fighting the screw. I did use metallic paint on the colored parts to make it pop. I have it at work and everyone who is my age always stops to look at it. If you are a g fighter fan or even a gundam fan this kit is a must

One of the best oldschool MG kits.
I really like this kit, and I had an absolute blast putting it together. It's really ahead of its time. While it might seem very simple and basic at first, due to it's complete lack of any kind of gun or rifle--having only two beam sabers, and a ton of hands, it's actually pretty tricky. It transforms into the super mode, with the arm, shoulder, leg, foot, and head pieces shifting themselves to how it does on the show. Taking that into consideration with it's excellent pose-ability (Especially for it's time, it can do so much more than say, the MG Ez 8.), this is one of my favorite, if not my favorite kit of my collection. I own the MG Burning/God Gundam as well, and I really think this is a more fun kit, it transforms a bit more. So if you're a fan of the anime, and you're looking for an MG kit for HG price, I'd say look no further.

My first Master Grade, will not be my last!
Model shipped very fast and arrived 10 days earlier than the soonest expected delivery date! The model itself was extremely fun to assemble, this being my first Master Grade kit and all. Also picked up some Gundam Markers to detail the kit with and it looks gorgeous when completed! Take a look at these pictures and see for yourself! (NOTE: The beam I attached to the beam saber in these pictures I borrowed from the Master Grade G Gundam model which I bought at the same time as this kit, I was going for a recreation of the shining finger sword, the actual beam sabers included in this kit are a translucent pink as seen in the anime.)

Improper Packaging
The kit was shipped in a brown bag style oversized envelope and arrived with damage to the box. Luckily none of the runners were broken, but someone at Amazon needs to be fired for being cheap. Model kits should always be shipped in boxes! This review is more of a critique on Amazon as a seller than the kit itself. It's an older style kit but holds up well. Detail is a bit lower than modern kits but it's great for any G Gundam fan.

Old but great
The Shining Gundam was always one of my favorites , and after rewatching G GUNDAM again, I had to get it. Thankfully the MG was eligible for prime shipping. The kit is surprisingly sturdy for an early 2000s kit. I really love the use of rubber bottoms for the feet. It adds a ton of stability to the kit, and also allows you to put it some amazing poses. Sadly the photos I took were after I had already painted and coated it so it’s pretty much stuck in its current pose. The only real flaw of this kit, in my opinion, is the color of the yellow parts. One tip I would give to anyone thInking of picking this up would be to paint those yellow parts either Some kind of gold. It really will help bring this kits true power come forth. Also, one last tip. Do not for any reason use Testors top coat. It almost completely ruined my kit. Thankfully I was going for a beat up and dirty look but it did almost ruin all the work I did. Stick with Tamiya and never deviate.
