Rani Tandoori Masala

The Rani tandoori powder is saltfree so you can add as much as you like to your food without fear of it becoming salty. Two things to note: (1) it contains chili powder (ie cayenne pepper), so the more powder you add the hotter your food will become; (2) although it is a tandoori spice powder and in my opinion should be give off a more red color, it is actually more yellow, due to the turmeric. So I added more paprika to my marinade, but it was still a little too yellow, but that’s OK, I’m not going to give the lower score for that. Next time I use it I will add even more paprika!

I've bought Tandoori spice mixtures for many years, from assorted vendors both in England and in the USA, and I've bought other makes from Amazon in the past. Tandoori seasonings are normally not a hot mixture, but deeply flavored and commonly colored with a natural food coloring to bright red. They are classically used as a marinade for meat (mostly chicken) that is then rapidly cooked on a clay barbecue oven (a tandooor), though I also use then to make variants on Tikka Masala and Butter Chicken. These are mild but very flavorful dishes. This mixture is ferociously hot! I like hot curries, but did not expect my Tandoori chicken to burn my lips (and not from temperature). My wife and kids gave up from the heat. I'm still trying to find other ways to use this up, since it is useless for the original purpose.

This is my 2nd Favorite Tandoori Masala Seasoning. It doesn't have as much flavor as the Whole Foods brand tandoori seasoning. Great value for the money. This container lasts forever, even for families like ours who cook Indian food weekly. A bit spicy for some.

I made a sheet pan tandoori chicken masala recipe with this seasoning. I usually purchase organic seasonings, but with 2020 being what it is, the organic brands are all sold out. So I decided to try this one since the ingredients seem to be pretty decent, if not actually organic. The seasoning definitely is a bit on the spicier side, which I love (bring on the heat!). However, my teen who is just starting to dip her toes into eating more spicy things (orders mild plus when we go out to eat) was still able to handle the level of heat.

Great tandoori masala! It's undyed, which is good. If you want hot pink chicken you can add your own food coloring, but that's just for appearances.I've used this both with and without yoghurt (dry rub vs marinade) and it's delicious either way. I've also added it to curries.This package is a great value for the money and I'm so happy to have it in my pantry!

I wanted to make my own ramen noodle soup so I decided to research Indian food. I like my kitchen because it can become a chemistry lab to work out your ingredients and frankly I easily get bored with food. So, what do I do? I add this spice to all my soups. It brightens soups up with a spicy taste that is not overwhelming the palate. Now if you battle with heartburn, I recommend you take your medication before you eat with this spice. I'm on Nexium because of my doctor but most times I can eat this spice without any problems. Try it out. I totally recommend this spice especially to soups.

I love using spices and herbs in my cooking and this was a great addition to my growing stash. It was very spicy similar to cayenne pepper, but it did not stop me from using a generous amount in my cooking. It worked wonderfully in my butter chicken! I did not like the fact that it came in a plastic bag but I had the option of purchasing it in a more convenient package so that’s my fault. The price for the amount is very fair.

The box is even Recyclable!An Added Bonus is the Surprise Packet of Kabab Masala inside ,which I will be using to make a totally Unique Dish.I am new to Indian Cooking, so having enough Spices to make"mistakes" while cooking,is a Challenge which I am going to haveFun with.

For making a chicken dhansak

came in a non vaccum sealed package ( maybe broke somewhere along the way).marinated it some chicken for couple of hours (6)The smell and taste was a bit stale.. VERY SIMILAR to the pakistani spice boxes ( SHAN, NATIONAL BRANDS) you can find for $1-$3) at indian grocers.Upon cooking the stale smell got stronger...tried two batches.. on charcoal and a pellet grill.. same taste and smell..I got a bunch of Srilankan Spices, couple of months back. Those are probably the best spices i have ever had.

The spices are fresh, fragrant and very, very effective. The food is excellent. Super fast shipping. Well packed with no damage to any of the seven containers. Very pleased with this purchase. Won't hesitate to re-order these, or order new spices

not like real tandoori flavour just a sour taste not good.. do not recommend i followed directions and taste isn't good. don't waste your time or your chicken

use it with oil for roasted vegetables, especially good with roasted sweet potatoes
