Excellent dish cloth; ditch the sponge.
Great colors and just the right thickness. They seem durable, but time will tell.I like these dishcloths a lot, and I am pretty picky. The ones I have purchased in stores are too small and either flimsy or too thick and heavy. And terrycloth? Just NO. But these are really good. When they arrive you will be scratching your head thinking they are thin, flimsy and too large. But after you launder them you will be happy. They shrink to a good thickness, size, and absorbency for washing dishes and wiping down counters and tables. They are also very easy to wring out and they dry quickly.I have been using them for a couple of months and they still seem to be holding together fine.

Just like Mom used to use!
I wanted to find an alternative to sponges which-no secret here- can and do get quite nasty and we seem to always wonder why they smell and yet we can't remember when we even last replaced them! Guilty. I was hoping to find a cloth washcloth that I could use for dishes and cleaning up the kitchen counters after cooking, just like my mom, grandmother and aunts always had. These fit the bill perfectly! They are a perfect size and the nubby texture works well to scrub leftover food on dishes. The only adjustment is that the fabric does not seem to hold any soap suds, which really, is just to make us think we are actually washing, but the soap in the water is really doing the job anyway. If you can get passed that, these do a great job. I have been using the same one for a week already- don't chide me- I am, after all, 'washing' it every time I use it. I wash and rinse it well after each use and wring it out well and it has never had even the slightest odor of mustiness like I sponge would. I have not noticed any significant shrinking doing this and can't imagine after the washer/dryer it would be much different. These seem like they will hold up very well and the pack of 8 should last for a great while. Great cheery colors add a nice splash of fun to a mindless chore. I am thinking about ordering another pack just to have because all good things seem to be replaced with inferior materials and I don't want to have to start again from square one. These truly are just like Mom had. That, in and of itself, is a pleasant thing to be reminded of...

Perfect for Washing Dishes
I bought these to use as dish rags because I don’t have a dishwasher and need to wash everything by hand. They are perfect for that use! They are not especially absorbent. This is a great characteristic for a dish rag, because they dry quickly and don’t develop a musty smell. However, they are not great for sopping up a large spill on the counter—you’ll need a different towel for that. These do shrink quite a bit; my photo shows a new (wet) green one and a yellow one that just came out of the dryer after one wash. This doesn’t really matter to me for a dish rag; brand new, they are a little large, so the shrunken size after washing is just fine. They are just textured enough to scrape well when cleaning food off of plates and most pans without scratching. For the price, I am very pleased, and I love the bright colors!

Like old-fashioned dish rags
These are the kinds of the dish rags you probably remember your grandmother using in her kitchen or maybe even your mother. They have a nostalgic value. They are pretty dish rags, but they will shrink significantly when you put them in the wash. They also don't work all that great on granite countertops and I find myself turning to my sponge. These work great on dishes although they may scratch more delicate pieces due to the rough material. Beware if you plan to use these on china or fine glassware. They are also durable and I still have the dish rags I ordered nearly a year ago.

Turns out they are great!
Update on original review: I have to take back my initial review. I've had these for a few weeks now and I love them. They washed up well and I see no evidence that they won't last. They dry fast and are not thick which I prefer. I see they are no longer available but I would definitely buy them again. I love them. These are cute and the bright colors are nice but they aren't worth more than 50 cents each and they are over $1 each. I could have gotten better ones at the $ store. I can't imagine they will last long as they are very, very thin. I did, however, rate them a 3 on durability because I have not used them yet and I have not washed them either so I cannot be !00% sure that they aren't durable but by the looks of them I'd say not. I purchased some other dish clothes from another seller that were the same price and they are very nice, not too thick but not too thin, and just as nice looking. I wouldn't buy these again.

The Cloths I Have Been Looking For!
It has been hard to find 100% cotton dish cloths in recent years, especially ones thin enough to dry quickly at the sink to prevent sour smells. All you see are microfiber, which are good for some things, or terry cloths, which tend to hold smells. I don't know why I didn't think of looking on Amazon until now, but I finally did. I bought two packages of cloths the same day to compare, and I happily announce these are the ones I have been looking for! When I opened the package I was not hopeful. The deep dye on the cloths had a strong smell, and I was afraid it would linger. But I popped them in the washer and the dryer and they came out great. No smell at all. No dye bled onto my other linens in the wash. They did crinkle up a bit in the dryer, but I expect that of 100% cotton. The stitching around the edges held well, and they were soft and folded nicely.I used one that night. It did a great job of washing my dishes, wiping up some spills on the counter, and then rinsed very clean. I wrung it out and hung it over the faucet to dry, and it turned out great--smelled clean when it dried.I will definitely be ordering more of these to replace the old cloths I had been holding onto during my search for the perfect kitchen cloth. I found what I was looking for.

They Do Shrink
These are OK dish rags, but they do shrink. I washed them in luke warm water, actually cool water, you can see in the photo, (blue is unwashed, green washed) how much it did shrink after 1 washing, no tumble drying. The tag says, “luke warm wash,” do not tumble dry. The dish rags are OK but I’m not impressed. I will keep looking for some good quality dish rags.
