This converter has beaten out three others I have tried without any issues.
Excellent service , as a direct power supply, maintains constant true voltage. No problems, powering my lighting and 12v system and the diesel heater without a battery connected in my travel trailer.

It provides a great power solution for charging solar battery systems. Recommend this one.
Hobotech uses one of these so I thought I would give one a try. I tried other ready-made bench supplies and they are either too weak or died after a few months. I used the male end of an extension cord I cut to make solar cables as the power in cable. I used forked connectors since i do not have small enough ring connectors and too small may cause overheating? The terminals are surprisingly sturdy so tightening the connectors down securely felt safe and right. The enclosure itself is thin metal and probably would not survive a drop of more than foot. A "remote" dial for turning thew power up and down is provided should you want to place the power unit inside an enclosure. Once put together I started charging a 24v, 200AH battery with both wall power (programmed to limit charging amps to 20A), and then fed the power from this unit through the solar input MC4 connectors. I made a cable to be able to do this. Wall inputs 800 watts, with this added through the solar input, another 500w were added! I set this to around 40v though it does output its stated voltage of 48v. Hobotech stated the unit gets very hot. Mine got hot but not very. I could hold it in my hand with little to no discomfort. It has a display window that shows you the current voltage setting. The rheostat dial is not super-accurate, but taking your time you cam set it to exactly the voltage you need. The display window and my MPPT unit agreed within tenths of a volt. If you are using this for 48v or above solar battery system, this may not work. The charging source must be at least 5v about what your battery's voltage is.

Good as replacement for my CNC spindle power supply.
The Power supply for my CNC spindle works intermittently so cannot be used. I found this power supply on Amazon and ordered one. The first one come with dents on the box and the case. I requested a replacement and it came next day. This time, it is perfect and works flawlessly for my CNC. Even though it is marked as 48V, it can be adjust up to 50v if needed. It also has an LED display showing the voltage. One thing to note is that as it comes in setting of 230v AC, in order to use in the US, it must be set for 115v input. Otherwise, I don't find any problem. I gave it a 4 star rating because the first one came has dents and with two screws missing. Amazon send me a replacement immediately and I can return the damaged one for free shipping. The only thing I hope is that it can come with a power switch. Right now, I need to use an external switch to turn it on and off. It comes with some connection tabs and an external potential meter for adjust the voltage. As it already have an voltage adjuster and wire hookup is pretty easy, I don't think these are necessary. If you don't need these additional parts, you can buy the same product on Amazon without these parts to save about 4 Dollars.

Very good.
Great value, fan a little noisy so it’s best to mount in a remote location.

Make sure you set the side selector for your area either 220 V or 110 V
Lightweight and really works well. Rated for 30 A no problem running anything that has a peak load of less than that.

12v power supply
It was great. Just the wrong application based on what I had to work with.

Excellent Product
Lets start with the bad part: As far as I can tell this product is NOT UL, CSA, VDE, FCC, FM, or anybody else approved. It does have a CE mark, but I can't tell if that is China Export or the European Certification. Now, being a design engineer who has to design to meet these standards, I do not see any problems with the design and I have no problem operating this in my office or home. It is a well made product, assuming it survives shipping. The Good Part: Price is excellent, the Universal AC input is excellent, the Power Switch and LED could be more useful if they were on the other end, but I understand why they are not and it is not really a problem. There is an adjustment pot inside that will allow you to adjust to 13.8VDC, My radio will pull about 6.8 Amps when transmitting and that is no sweat on this power supply. The DC Output Voltage is Rock Solid, it is very quiet both electrically and physically. It does have a fan, but I have never heard it turn on and the chassis has not gotten over 80 degree F. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good solid supply.
