Everything works perfectly. Correct auto locksmith can do programming job for £90. Your local VW dealer lying that it is impossible to programm the key. I did it in less than 45 min. Do not pay £300!!!

Took to vw main dealer to have it programmed for my 2010 passat Estate a real vw key comes from the factory part coded to the chassis number of your vehicle therefore this key can not be programmed indeed when they tried it with mine it sent my car into a code 7 lock down which it took them hours to unlock and I had to spend 300 quid on a proper key and programming anyway give it a miss if I were you

Product seemed good quality from the outside and it paired the remote section up very well and reliably but my locksmith just couldn't get the id48 chip to program to the immobilizer no matter what he tried

Key work with no problems after programming, much cheaper than the dealer.
