Complete Poems and Selected Letters of John Keats (Modern Library Classics)

I was reading an essay on Keats recently, and realized that I only had two books of Keats's poetry, the attractive but brief volume in the Everyman's Library Pocket Poets series, and a 50-year-old Bantam paperback which is still in fairly good shape, but which doesn't have an index of titles or first lines. This book fills the gap very well. The Preface begins, "This book has been prepared on the principle that students of a poet have a right to all the available evidence on his artistic life. Books of selected poems, with minor pieces carefully excluded, fail to furnish such evidence." There are notes at the bottom of many pages. The ones I read are helpful, and they do not detract from reading the poems.The book is compact, with clear, readable type, and in very good shape considering that it was published in 1935. I spent quite a bit of time hunting on Amazon to find the right book. This is exactly what I was looking for.

This is a lovely copy of Keats' collected poems. The letters in the back are some of his most important and an added bonus. Just wish I had ordered a hard copy.

Many other free or cheaper versions of Keats have a poor or non-existent table of contents. This edition has a complete TOC, and includes all his poems as far as I can tell. A must-buy if you want a complete, well-formatted version of this genius' work.

At times I found myself a little awash in a story that felt both oddly familiar and completely foreign at the same time. Keats plays with language in a way that feels both deliberate and carefree. I often found myself looking for a hidden message in the simplest of text and longing for a straightforward message in more complex text. Complete Poems and Selected Letters of John Keats sometimes veers into unfinished thoughts and unfinished works with an honesty that disarms even as it brings up one's defenses. I found some of his unfinished work quite compelling as it was, even complete, and some of it... well, unfinished. Complete Poems and Selected Letters of John Keats is an intriguing look inside the work and the mind of John Keats that somehow feels like a complete work even with the inclusion of his unfinished works.

The book arrived on time perfectly packaged!! Happy to have the complete collection with a lovely short bio. Truly inspirational and an immortal treasure to the world !!!

Read a few and I’m absolutely enjoying this book

Really good book. It was delivered on time and is in good condition. The packing was also acceptable. This book contains almost all the poems, sonnets selected letters and also the narrative and plays written by Keats. The cover is also very beautiful. And they sent a bookmark too which I'm very thankful for coz you can't really have enough of those.

Keats is really the god of poetry. During the romantic age, his influence and contribution cannot be ignored. And this edition collects all of his poetry including some important letters written to his friend, and beloved. The book is useful.
