ThunderEase Calming Anti Anxiety Pheromone Collar for Dogs (Small)

Our 1 year old lab mix is a rescue baby that was abused and taken away from someone by the state. She is terrified of basically every sound and anyone she doesn’t know. She has a lot of anxiety…so we felt that this was worth a shot but we didn’t have a lot of hope. Within the first 5 minutes of her having this on, I had to leave her to run a quick errand. My husband noticed that she remained calm and in the living room, playing with her toys instead of pacing by the door waiting for me. We’ve also noticed that while retaining her playful and inquisitive nature, she is calm, her ears are actually forward and not pinned back. Furthermore, she’s finally able to sleep through the night! I was getting woken up at about midnight every night we think because she was anxious. But no longer! She’s sleeping through the night until about 5 am! She’s also far less reactive to noises around her. We have not had a chance to try her around someone new yet. My guess is that she will still bark, but hopefully not as excessively. All in all we are just thrilled with this collar and knowing that our Hannah is less anxious.Update: three days later we have taken the collar off of her, because it has changed her behavior completely. She was becoming somewhat sedentary, starting to nip at us , which she absolutely didn’t do before, and she was searching for places to go to be completely alone in the house and just laying there for hours at a time. This is not our playful pup! She usually wants to be right with us and is very interactive. We found that within a few hours of removing her collar, her behavior was back to normal. I think this collar definitely works, just not for our girl. I don’t know at this point if it’s just too strong for her, and maybe the plug in would work for thunderstorms and when people come over, then unplug it when we don’t need it? I guess we continue on our journey trying to figure out what works best for Hannah. Love and patience are the two best things for her right now.

My dog is frighten of fireworks and storms. This product did not work for my dog. The only difference I have seen is it made her very tired. She had no motivation until a storm or fireworks took place. It is only good for 40 days and the first 7 it might not take affect. My dog has had this collar on for 3 weeks and no difference. Disappointed

You need to give it a month to actually kick in, it was very effective but unfortunately with how tight it has to be to use her body heat to work it impacted my husky mixes coat. I wish it was more efficient and it does not work if it gets wet. There’s no smell but it does look very uncomfortable she used to scratch at it a lot. I like the results but it’s not worth the down sides.

You can control the fit,because it's adjustable.It help with noise, if you have a dog like mine who barks cars shutting from inside with the doors and windows.

After my mother passed unexpectedly, I had to bring her not so small, 115 lb, 3 year old American bulldog fur baby home with me. I already had 2 pits (1 male, 1 alpha female) 1 female chihuahua, and 4 cats. It had always been her and my mom and not many visitors. People were not the problem, although no one is allowed to walk down the sidewalk according to her. She was stressed to say the least. She was panting out of control, heavy breathing. Any little noise was setting her off and sending a 115 lb rocket hurling around the house. Then there was the biggest issue ever! The aggression she was showing towards our dogs with food, toys, and anything else she thought was hers and never had to share before. Even me, (I’m guessing because I look so much like my mother) i was her human now. If one of mine jumped up on me to get a head scratch, here comes Sadie Mae. She was creating so much stress for me that I could barely grieve because I was 100% of the time worried about Sadie. Having a newborn in the home would have been easier. Giving her away was never an option and neither was keeping her in a kennel, all the time. The first fight was very minor. Walmart bags were brought in and Sadie did not like other dogs looking through them and she started in on the female pit. The second incident was more serious. My daughter came in at midnight and disturbed all of the dogs. In the excitement of that Sadie started in on the female pit again. My second pit jumped in, to defend and now all three 100 lb dogs are fighting. It took 3 adults to separate them. Nothing that required a vet visit but NOW WHAT? I googled how to calm a stressed dog and this brand popped up. After reading more about stressed dogs and then reading reviews about this product, I decided to try the collar and the calming chews. The collar was put on and kept on 24/7. The collar is a large and we change it out every 3 weeks. I only used the chews if I knew someone was arriving home or a stressful situation was coming up. This was a noticeable difference with her. No more heavy panting. It was pretty immediate too. We haven’t had anymore incidents and now instead of attacking, she uses her weight to push them around or out of the way. She is still showing them she’s taking the alpha position but there’s been huge progress made! They are starting to flow as a pack again and I’m no longer concerned for the safety of my fur babies. You have to put the work in still, It’s not a miracle product in that sense. I still took precautions to protect them all and tried not to put them in certain situations too soon. It’s a slow process but it does work. There were some days I wasn’t giving chews and some days I was giving them as calming maintenance. Never had to give the amount that was suggested. Thought that was too much and kept her in a zombie like state. We are more than 2 months in now. The first month we didn’t have the collar or the chews and it was a nightmare. The second month has been life changing using them.
