Amazing Truth But Wish Wisdom on What To Do When You Cannot Find a Church that Preaches Truth
I struggled with how many stars to give this book. As for truth, it is a 5 star book. This book has in many ways been a blessing to me. Paul Washer quotes and references so many scriptures to provide evidence that what he is stating is true. I have struggled for many years believing these truths while having many people in my life, including pastors, telling me that I am wrong. Thankfully, the Lord has sustained me, continued to open my eyes and has not allowed me to believe a "watered down" gospel. With all of that said, Paul Washer does not tell like minded believers what to do with regards to church. I live in a large city in the northwest, and have visited countless churches in my area. All of these churches struggle with what Paul Washer accurately states is the problem with most evangelical churches in the U.S. Case in point is the church I have been attending. The pastor states in his sermon that he would rather have a church of 10 people following Jesus than a big mega church, and the church is not about a building, it is about the people. I totally agree with these statements. Unfortunately, the pastor and leaders of the church speak differently with their actions. They are spending over 7 million dollars purchasing and remodeling the existing church building - which I thought was quite nice and adequate. At a different sermon, the pastor admonished people for not giving generously to the church building, and that was after stating that the congregation gave 5 million dollars. This is a church of 500 people! I was really hoping that Paul Washer would provide some wisdom for those of us unable to find a like minded church. In addition, I wish his ministry, Heart Cry, would look into planting churches in large cities in our own country. We really need them. I struggle with knowing whether I should just give up going to church or go to a church where the gospel is not accurately presented.

America Needs this Book in fact the world needs this book
In what could be considered the darkest days of American Christian history, this book contains the answers to get America back to prosperity and Godly Blessing. Paul Washer (the servant) like always hits the target and tells it as it is truth and all. Prepared to be challenged convicted and humbled to your knees, as you cry out to God for mercy. If you are wondering why America is in the mess that it is in then read this book. If you are wondering why God's hand of blessing has been removed from this nation read this book. If Gods people want to see true revival break out in the USA and beyond read this book. It is my belief that any person who reads this book and implements Paul Washers teaching , will experience true conversion and gain eternal life. I also believe that any person who reads this book and does not implement the teaching in this book will spend an eternity regretting their decision.Paul you are truly a watchman of your people keep sounding the trumpet.

Salvation for the Glory of God
My favorite authors are Arthur Pink, J I Packer, Martyn Lloyd-Jones, John MacArthur, David Platt, and now added to the list is Paul Washer. His books, like the authors listed above, are books that are divinely inspired. These men have a great care and concern for the integrity of God's Word. In today's world, God's Word is greatly diluted, misinterpreted, and misrepresented, by preachers and laymen alike, leading many down the path of thinking they are Christian, when they are clearly not. This book brings great clarity to the study, and meaning of salvation, and Christianity. Paul Washer writes very straight forward, leaving nothing to the imagination, not mincing words or stretching interpretations beyond their meaning, speaking only truth from God's Word. At the end of each chapter, and within each chapter, are the Bible references to support all his comments. It was said of Martyn Lloyd-Jones , "that he preached with divine logic", Paul Washer does the same. This book is an easy read, you will read it over and over again, and purchase for others as well.

Repentance & Saving Faith
The Gospel according to Jesus Christ, the apostles, and the saints of old is captured in this easy reading, excellent work by Paul Washer. I was one that spent years living in deception that I was saved only to learn by the grace of GOD that I was lost! I had been presented what was in 1970 a booklet called the 4 spiritual laws. It was read t,o me and by me. I said fine I sure didn't want to go to hell so I "accepted Christ". Only to remain as dead in my sin and trespasses as I was before I was given this booklet. I read John MacArthur's book in 1989 "The Gospel According to Jesus" fell on my face in utter shame and a fear that surpasses understanding pleading with GOD to have mercy on me and save me! Repentance and faith cannot ever be separated. THANK YOU MY LORD JESUS! Romans 10:9-10

Very Thought Provoking
Paul Washer has followed up with a very challenging book with The Gospel Call and True Conversion. In it he tackles the Gospel and what does it truly mean to be saved. In a day and age where there is so much easy believism, compromise, and tolerance he hits hard with the foundations of biblical Christianity......"repent, believe and obey." This book has challenged me as a believer to return to the roots and ask myself "what is the gospel, Am I truly saved, Is my life marked out from the world?" As I read it I found myself examining myself more in light of the Scriptures and desiring God more and more. There are so many churches with self proclaimed believers however look and appear no different from the world. It is happening in so many arenas from the music to all areas of the church. This book I can truly say is definitely one that was right on time. Grace and Peace

I have read all three of the gospel series by Paul Washer - I have read and re-read them slowly as part of my Bible Studies - I can't recommend them enough - so simple and yet profound in where we as a church have lost our way in terms of preaching and living out the gospel - preacher and congregation alike. Well done Paul Washer - you will need much prayer as you continue to faithfully preach against the tide and I shall certainly be praying for you.

Great book!
Very well written and explained the gospel of Jesus Christ in such a beautiful way. I still need to read part 3 to get a spiritual balance because finishing off with this book would be a huge mistake especially since Paul Washer fails to explain why holiness is actually a need since our self righteousness serves for nothing.
