Pricey but worth it
I had to swallow hard to justify the price of this, but after dealing with regular toilet risers slipping around and getting pee underneath them that was hard to clean without taking them off, I decided to try this one. It is really well made, sturdy and strong, mounts snugly and stays put. It lifts just like a regular seat, making cleaning a breeze.I bought the 2" one which is just enough lift for the elder man I got it for. He can get up and down easily now, and nothing dangles into the toilet water when he sits, which was understandably his main concern. I worried that the 3" one might leave too much gap between the toilet and seat so that unpleasant things might splash out between the rim and seat, so took a gamble that the 2" one would be enough. And, it is. I'm going to get another one for my own toilet which is too short.

Toilet seat higher than normal
I ordered the raised toilet seat as I'm in capacitated after a major MVA the seat itself is great quality and would most likely meet most people's needs the problem is not the seat I'm 6.3 tall and it's still a bit small height wise it's fine it's just not long enough front to rear for your average height person fine but then maybe to high seems most toilets are made for little people. I'm satisfied and the price was right I'm also in Australia and the cost of these things are ridiculous we are getting ripped off over here I bought this from Amazon even with the poor exchange rate cheaper than anything comparable and better quality as well

Good product, poor instructions.
I received the product this afternoon. Unpacking revealed that it was well made, heavy gauge plastic. Much better than the average toilet seat.As for installation, that's another story (mostly due to poor instructions).Nowhere in the instructions is the toilet lid addressed, however, studying the product bits, it become apparent that the lid must be included in the initial installation.Getting the seat, lid and two hinged bits all together is a bit like wrestling with an octopus. It is helpful to use some masking tape to hold the hing bits in place while installing on the toilet bowl.Inserting the two mounting bolts through the holes in toilet is easy. Getting a plastic washer, flat metal washer and lock washer on the bolt is not too difficult, but then getting the nut started seems to require a third hand. However, it's do-able.Once the seat is aligned and tightened, it is time to determine if it is an improvement over a standard seat.1. It is sturdy.2. It is comfortable.3. It's not too difficult to install if you plan ahead. So, is it worth $98 bucks?Yes, it is.It is much cheaper than installing a "comfort height" toilet. It, unlike the Amazon photos, does not look "geeky".Would I buy it again? Yes?

Goldilocks would be impressed
My husband is paralyzed on his left side, which makes getting up and down on a standard height commode challenging. But a Hi-John is too high, leaving his feet dangling like a child, and doesn't feel secure. Getting an over-the-commode chair doesn't always fit small bathrooms. Our local medical supply store didn't have anything that would work.So we browsed Amazon til we found this, and it was like Baby Bear's chair. It was the right height, it fastened securely to the commode but can just as easily be removed if no longer needed, and it is easy to clean. There's no huge gap for those whose aim is less than a bullseye. We bought a second one for another bathroom for convenience, but it works just as well for me, who is 7 inches shorter then he.

Better than buying a new toilet
This definitely achieved the goal of added height and comfort. Quality is mediocre. My neighbor got a Kohler (half the price); it has better finish - and a soft close cover. I’d opt for that next time.

Perfect
Looks and functions like a regular toilet seat except for the 2-inch space beneath it, which is only visible from the side. But with the extra 2 inches of elevation, it’s just the right height to keep things from hitting the water - the reason elderly husband sorely wanted this.We have gone through many different styles of toilet seat risers. This is absolutely the best for this. Other risers clamped or bolted on - making cleaning under them impossible. They were too high, (making it inconvenient for my use), designed more for an assist in getting up from them. And not what I wanted guests to see or have to use.Very stable and sturdy. Finally found the perfect one. Husband very happy. Me, too.Highly recommend.

The 2" lift only translates to a bit more than 1" over a non-lifted toilet seat
Most purchasers of lifted toilet seats are seniors, and they purchase them to minimize the effort required to stand back up after seating themselves. My issue was more about hygiene and trying to leave as much room between my nether-regions and the water level in the toilet bowl. So for me, the 2" lift doesn't provide as much additional clearance as I had hoped for, but it certainly helps. The model with the next higher clearance would have probably been too high (I have short legs), so this one will do.Definitely do not regret this purchase, but I would recommend that if you need a particular ADDITIONAL distance, you take into account the nearly 1" lift you already have with a a standard seat.Installation hardware that came with this seat made it easy to remove the old seat and switch to the new one.

REAL toilet seat--preserves dignity of elderly, and makes cleaning easy
I had tried several toilet seat inserts for my parents (moulded plastic bowls that wedged into the top of the toilet bowl, replacing the seat). These did the job of increasing the seat height, but all narrowed the opening down to the toilet bowl and trapped toilet paper and worse to the sides, making cleaning particularly difficult after bowel movements (sorry, but it's a real issue for caregivers!). They also required removal of the standard toilet seat, so looked cheap and "medical."In contrast, this is a true, glossy plastic toilet seat with cover—looks and functions exactly like a standard one, permitting everything to fall directly into the existing toilet bowl. Appearance (other than the elevation blocks which can be seen from the side) is identical to a standard toilet, and you clean your standard toilet bowl as usual, rather than both a tricky insert and the bowl, which is a real advantage. The only heads up is regarding your toilet shape. In order for the elevation blocks to sit steadily on the toilet bowl, it's essential to choose the right shape (in my case, the round one). I'm not certain if the elongated one looks as good and works as well as the round one I'm reviewing.

Safest and strongest seat ever
I purchased 2 other toilet seats that rise and had to throw them out because they slipped off. This seat is very sturdy and doesn't slip. Excellent quality. I highly recommend.
