| Product Care Instructions | Keep plants well-watered during the growing season, especially during dry spells. Plants need about 1-2 inches of rain per week during the growing season. Use a rain gauge to check to see if you need to add water. It's best to water with a drip or trickle system that delivers water at low pressure at the soil level. Seeds started early indoors did much better than direct sown.
My plants began blooming early to mid July. I live in a rural area outside of Seattle closer to the mountains so things get growing 2-3 weeks behind Seattle proper. The plants are about three feet high with multiple flowers each. Here is the caveat! The plants I started early indoors are far and away better, seeds sprouted better, grew faster etc. than those seeds that were direct sown. Recommend starting early indoors in our area for flowers. Update: August 21st-still getting flowers, although they are a bit smaller than earlier flowers. Plants are taller now about 4 feet tall. 2021: planted seeds from last year’s packet (since there were lots) and they germinated and have grown well. Spring 2022: poor germination of leftover 2020 seeds. Will buy fresh for spring 2023. Was a super cold/rainy and extended spring, so this plus old seeds made for poor germination and many of those I did transplant got eaten by a huge crop of slugs this year! I also had fresh seeds of another straw flower variety and these did well! So moral of the story buy seeds fresh.

not a good product
I was to excited to plant strawflowers. I followed the instruction. Put the seeds on the dirt in May. Today is July 5th and no signs of flowers. Very disappointed to say the least. Was looking forward to have some flowers this summer.

Long wait but sweet reward
We got these seeds in early April, planted them right away under the lights and got the growth very quickly. In May we replanted the seedlings outside, and they looked like weeds for over 2 months. We were about to write a negative review, like some others, but decided to wait. At the end of July they started shooting out the buds and finally around August 8 they started giving us gorgeous straw flowers. This is our first time planting them, and we had no idea about the long wait. Tomorrow is September 1, and our garden is filled with straw flowers of many colors. They are are very tall and bloom in twos or threes. See the photos. We love them, they also dry beautifully.

Did not grow
I planted these seeds at the same time as other seeds bought on Amazon. I planted them in more than one location. Watered as directed, ensured proper fertilization, etc. My other seeds have done an excellent job with getting started - over a month later and these seeds have not even sprouted. This is the only seed I've had an issue with this year, and we've planted everything from vegetables to a wide variety of flowers and herbs. I would not recommend this blend.
