Q: What is teh acual max jaw opening? The description says 0-1", the label on teh product says 20 mm and reviews claim only 15/32".

20 mm metric, 25/32” English measure. Just a tad over 3/4” works great on all domestic plywood and on Baltic birch.

Q: What is the coating on the clamping faces? It appears to be sandpaper or skateboard grip tape, and I'm afraid it will mar hardwood-veneered plywood.

Mine was a rubberized, highly textured material. I moved regular plywood panels (one side finished) with no marring problems. I don't know about hardwood veneer, but I think you could insert a softer material in between gripper and panel for assurance.

Q: Will it clamp to steel doors and wood doors?

This will clamp onto anything that fits in its jaw... Very handy tool, check opening width

Q: Will this work with a stucco panel?

I've never worked with stucco panels. But I have used the FivePears Carrier to handle 3/4" 4 x 8 sheets of plywood. As long as your stucco panels are not more than .8" thick, it should work.
