Edmund Morris's Theodore Roosevelt Trilogy Bundle: The Rise of Theodore Roosevelt, Theodore Rex, and Colonel Roosevelt

Books were purchased for my son. He got a hold of them and couldn't put them down. He loved each one and has started them over for a second go.

This is well written, factual, and very interesting. I have finished 2 of the three volumes and am looking forward to the 3rd.If you purchase this set of 3 volumes you will be glad you did. It is well worth the read.

If you're a fan of Theodore Roosevelt or even if you're interested in the man, then this series of books are for you. The writing is very good and a lot of information about TR is revealed.

I am reading the third volume of this set, and can't put it down. I have read the first two volumes, and I'm reminded that Roosevelt's times aren't too different from our times today. Politics is politics. Edmund Morris is an excellent writer, and I look forward to reading other works of his. I have also enjoyed Morris' Edison, a man of his times also.

I haven't had a chance to read them yet (I've read "Colonel Roosevelt" years ago), so my only comment was that they arrived earlier than expected, and in superb condition. They look great in my library!

Edmund Morris reminds me a lot of Robert Caro (author of The Power Broker and the biography of LBJ). His research has been excellent (which takes much time and requires us to wait for following volumes) and his treatment of TR is very objective. If you've read "Theodore Roosevelt: A Life" by Nathan Miller or "Morning's on Horseback" by David McCullough, and are fascinated with TR's incredible will to overcome his serious health issues, maximize his performance in whatever he attempts and achieve personal success through leadership -- then there are many additional details of this man's journey in this trilogy. Three volumes may be a bit much for many -- in which case you should start with one of the two biographies I mentioned. But, the surprise in the three volumes is that, like Caro, Morris has an engrossing way of writing which, if you didn't know better, you might think you were reading a novel rather than biography.

These 3 books were bought in November for a Christmas gift for someone out of state. The 3 books are excellent but the binding on the first book is falling apart! Now I see the return window has closed as of January 31. 2021. So what kind of help can I get? I don't need a refund, just a replacement. So now what? A book this expensive should not be so shoddily made.

Theodore Roosevelt was the 26th American President and the youngest person to assume that office (JFK is the youngest to be voted into the position). Edmund Morris has written a three part biography of his life. The first book examines the 42 years till he assumed the Presidency. The second book looks at the 7.5 years he was in office. The third book looks at the 10 years after he left the White House.If you're interested in Roosevelt's life and think you can read over 2500 pages about the guy, this set of books is for you. I won't review each book individually (I don't think I can do each justice here, if you're interested I'd recommend you look at each book in turn), but I don't think you could find a more detailed, and interesting, look at anyone's as you find here.

These books are brilliant. They are well-researched, they read easily, Theodore Roosevelt was an incredible figure indeed. Edmund Morris has done a superb job and I wholeheartedly recommend this trilogy.

Theodore Roosevelt was one of the most influential Presidents in American history and Morris's biography is essential to anyone wanting to understand American (and World) history. This set is the bargain of the year.

Truly a unique and inspiring character. Ranks up there with the biographies of Churchill, napoleon, and peter the great.
