SwingSmart Duo Golf Analyzer

Ordering the product from Amazon was easy and they delivered as they indicated.The device is pretty easy to install and getting the device to pair up with my iphone and my tablet was pretty painless.I do like the data it provides me when I have the device in training mode (one of the best features that I wanted). This will enable me to practice inside during the cold MN winter. I do not know how accurate the numbers are but am not sure if it matters as long you use in relative terms.One annoying thing is that when the device detects some sort of an odd swing and he is unable to analyze it then it wants you to email the data back to the vendor so that they can improve their algorithm. However when this happens and the display is locked (even though it says it is not) until you go back to the home page again.I wish the device had the data for all the clubs from bunch of good golfers so that you can compare the different swings so that you can correct your inefficiencies.All in all it is a nice toy.

I'm an avid golfer who practices and analyzes his swing extensively. In the past, I've paid expensive lessons for the info that TrackMan measures. TrackMan is considered the RollsRoyce of golf swing analyzers with a comparable price. SwingSmart allows an individual 80% (my opinion) of the swing data that TrackMan captures and does it for an affordable amount...If it continues to work! That is the catch phrase. I received my SwingSmart Duo last Saturday. Excitedly, I set it up following the directions explicitly. I put it to use for the next 4 days capturing all facets of my golf swing... from putter to lob wedges to drivers. The info and accurate visuals of my clubpath and clubface were invaluable and I couldn't be more pleased. Then on the 5th day it stopped capturing my swings ... thus stopped working. I've been in daily communication with SwingSmart Support via their texting ticket procedure. Nothing has been remedied or replaced as yet. I'll come back and update this review as soon as I'm made whole again on my purchase. But as of now (Mar 22, 14) I've got a purchased 5 day old, non-functioning analyzer.Update (3/28/14) As promised, I was sent a new, replacement module 5days after reporting non-functioning issue. Support staff was professional and creditable. Module is working fine in my initial use (1day). Later, will update this review with long-term results. (Sazerac)

I purchased the Swing Smart about 2 months ago and the first unit failed almost immediately. The company replaced the unit in about 8 days.The pluses (5 stars): It is a great tool and provides excellent feedback. The associated app is very easy to use and stores as many swings as necessary. The swing views are the most valuable part along with the instant display of the swing path. Even when the device is attached to a putter.The minuses (1.5 stars): Battery length is very poor. Even when the device is not in use and shut off the battery drains quickly. Peter Kostis' videos could have better explanations of the terminology used - such as the meaning of face angle and shaft lean. And of course, the price.All in all I am willing to overlook the negatives because of the instant feedback the device provides.

After dozens of golf swings (with it properly connected via Bluetooth to my iPad and later my iPhone), it has recorded ONE SWING. I admit the information from that one swing was great, but buying the SwingSmart has turned into a HUGE mistake at its hefty price. I have two support requests into the company, but I believe it just doesn't work.Update 16 JanI obtained a replacement module from Amazon and in addition have exchanged over a dozen emails with the company, the SwingSmart still fails to record my swings. I have provided the company with videos of its setup and use and their only suggestion has been to turnoff the WiFi on my iPad. This did not solve the problem. The iPad app senses the module is turned on as it does establish a Bluetooth connection. There have been no other active devices with BlueTooth on when I have attempted to use the SwingSmart. It just will not work.Update 20 JanI have exchanged at least 10 emails with SwingSmart's support people and they have been very responsive, but the module has not worked. They have suggested electronic interference so I walked to a nearby park with no homes or buildings within 100 yards. The module was attached per instructions and connected to my iPad with Bluetooth. The iPad app showed the module was communicating with the iPad. After a half dozen swings, not one was recorded/received by the iPad from the SwingSmart module. The SwingSmart is being returned. The company is sending a tested/working module to try. Hope is eternal.

The ability to look at where my club is frame by frame is great. Also, I like the tempo measurement. A couple things I'm not too keen on is that it doesn't carry out the swing far enough through the followthrough. Also, as some have pointed out, the indication as to how open or closed the head is at impact is not too accurate. I think this is due to the speed that the club turns just before impact. I was working on a late release, so the club is turning over pretty fast at impact. I haven't used it for putting yet, but I know it will give me input on my "loopy" backswing.It periodically will shut off when I take a divot with an iron (I'm working on getting more lag in my swing), but it starts right back up again. I've never had a problem getting the bluetooth connection.

I give it only 3 stars b3cause when the ad for this product showed up in my e-mail, it said android version at the top. I think a mistake by Amazon, as the android version is not yet available. Had to send back, but the merchantwas great, got a refund right away. It looks to be a great product though.
