what i like is that its color coded precisely for tracking a short on a 24V wired hvac thermostat. For hvac techs and maintenance, I recommend it.

These leads are assembled using very light gauge wire and it is only crimped to the clips. For hobby electronic work, I can live with the low current capacity wire, and found that the crimp connection on most of the clips was adequate. Emphasis here is on the "most" as I found a couple that were loose enough to create "noise" on the circuit that I was dealing with, which increased the time spent troubleshooting the problem.The worst problem with these leads is the slippery boot on the clips, which make it difficult to attach them to anything because the clips turn and move inside the boot as pressure is applied. I decided to rework the leads as follows:1. Un-crimp the leads and solder to the clip then re-crimp over the insulation.2. Add shrink fit tubing over the soldered area to extend about 1/4" beyond the boot.3. Shorten the large end of the boot about 3/8" so that about 1/4" of the tip of the clip is always exposed.4. Superglue the rear of the clip where the crimp is and slide the boot over the glue.After the glue dries, the boot is held from shifting and the leads are much easier to use... takes about 5 minutes per end to rework them. These worked very well for me, and my only complaint would be with the final price after adding everything up, however if you check back periodically, you might find more sellers, for example today March 03, 2015 there are many sellers listed including Amazon as as add-on item or free shipping with $25 purchase, so in that case they would be highly recommended. I have used mine a lot and have had no problems at all, although a previous batch did break electrical contact where it attaches to the clip, but that was an old version of this product and the newer version seems to be much improved, and if they do break at the clip, its easy to just repair with a little solder and squeeze the wire back into the part that retains it. I can fix it in less that 60-seconds and please keep in mind that these ones are a lot better and have not broken at all.

I got these to stock up on odds and ends for my new electronics hobby, and I'm using these more than I thought!Sometimes I'm building a circuit or checking one and I just need to make a really quick connection. These leads work perfect for that.I haven't used all of them but the few I'm currently using aren't faulty. I expect none of the leads in the package are and these are proving to be more handy than I initially thought!

These made my life so much freaking easier while trying to test some connections from some pads on a circuit through a breadboard and a few JTAG connectors. Only wish they were a tad smaller, but that's my bad. The single star removal is because the rubber around the clips moves a ton so it sucks when they go wonky and off the clips; which becomes a chore to get back on (for clarity, chore is used in the "first world problems" category of things that suck).

The item was as described and shipped quickly. All ten pieces arrived. I tested each piece and they are all functioning properly. The clips are small enough to effectively clip small items such as LED"s, but large enough to clamp thicker gauge wire. It is extremely helpful to have an array of these to test prior to soldering, or to try different components easily. I would have given this product a higher review but some of the clips are not centered. The clips open and close easily but are off centered. When attemping to clamp a small wire they simply will not close tightly. This was only the case with a single clip out of the ten. After a little tinkering it was possible to bend the clip close enough to where this does not pose a problem. The price was acceptable and the shipping was fast like always through amazon prime. I was hoping for more but these leads are reminiscent of those sold by bargain electronics houses in the 60s and 70s. The wire is of a very light gauge which has more meaning than just current carrying capacity. They do not stand up to flexing and will break after a short period of use. I became curious about how the lead wires were bonded to the clips. I pulled off a few covers and couldn't see how this was done. finally I saw the end of a copper wire sticking out of the crimp next to where the insulation went in. I subjected one to destructive analysis and found that after the end of the wire had been stripped the copper wire had been bent back along the insulation and the clip was crimped on it. Without being soldered the electrical connection won't be good for long. Wear from bending will gradually soften the insulation and the force that holds the wire and clip in contact will weaken resulting in an a high resistance connection. Also the crimping was not uniform from one clip to another, some of them being just barely holding. This indicates a primitive manufacturing jig or maybe they were crimped by hand using pliers.
