2005-2013 Z06 ZR1 & Grand Sport Corvette STO-N-SHO Removable Take Off Front License Plate Bracket

Originally the factory license plate holder was attached via double sided adhesive tape. After 10 years it deteriorated. Tried replacement double sided adhesive tape. Even the best rated did not work. Did not wand to drill holes in the body work to mount the front license plate ( required in my state ). This was an alternative. A little costly, but the ease of installation, as well as the finished appearance makes it well worth the money.

I’m glad I went with this 87$ option & no longer have to drill or get Tickets. Money well spent!! It’s all aluminum construction makes it light weight & rigid. It’s A great feeling to know you can “Sto N sho”. Another person mentioned buying lowes drywall toggle anchors to help give extra support, which is easy to add to make it extra secure. I didn’t receive the rubber gasket that goes in between the bumper valance and aluminum mount, but not a dealbreaker. I’m glad this kit included all license plate & mounting hardware. Mine Just arrived as of today 02/25/22. Check back in a year to see how it held up.

I have vararam intake on my 06 Corvette (base) and didn't want to block airflow with center mount so I installed toward drivers side which required a #8x3" (75mm) screw. Only one I could find at Lowes was part of a Drywall anchor kit (see photo), but it worked perfectly. Kit is very solid, but a little spendy for what it is...

My husband bought and installed this item. His comments below:This item was easier to install than the directions implied. I think I spent more time prepping the work area and putting the car on ramps. I may have spent a total of 15-20 minutes installing the bracket. I was impressed by the excellent machining and tolerances.

Make sure you are receiving what you ordered. I ordered this product twice. The first time I received the correct order, so I reordered the product for an interested friend and they sent me a totally or substandard product. So embarrassing once it arrived and couldn’t give to friend. I have to see if the second product is comparable before I can give to friend.

It’s a great idea, but the mounting bracket that bolts to the car behind the chin spoiler isn’t made correctly. When mounted, it places the holes that the license plate bracket is supposed to slide into up too high and as a result, the posts rub the spoiler and it makes it extremely difficult to slide the bracket on and it makes it nearly impossible to remove. Also, one tiny 7 mm bolt doesn’t seem like enough to keep the whole thing attached at freeway speeds. I wish I had done more research before buying. I guess I will keep it in case I get a fixit ticket for no front plate, then I’ll install this long enough to get it signed off. Too bad Chevrolet didn’t make an attractive license plate bracket on these cars.If they had an optional spacer to allow for production tolerances, maybe this product would be okay .

2011 Grand Sport. Needed to mount my plate off center since I just installed a Vararam cold air intake and didn’t want to block it. It took me longer to open the box then it did to install this. Slick setup and very well made. Simple to install.

I liked the ease of installation. It is a little pricey, but everything for a Corvette is.

Product is very well made and fits perfectly, was surprised though by a Fed Ex bill I received later in the mail for import duty fees, Canadians be aware !

Fit was perfect, all parts were provided.
