Senior Cats love this
We have an ancient feline we rescued from the streets on the verge of death , she's dying of three different things because her people neglected her. We named her Beyonce cause shes a survivor and previous to this warming pad she would obsessively crawl on my chest or stomach to keep warm. As im now pregnant the extra pressure and old cat breath was starting to make this affection extremely difficult for me , but now that we have this at the foot of the bed she stretches out all on it and barely leaves it while before she curl into a ball. Really recomend this for senior felines because they live the warmth and I think it helps with their joint pain. Beyoncee eats wet food on fine china , drinks water out of a water fountain and sleeps all day on a heating pad now like the Diva she was always meant to be.

Its Great!!
I really like this heating "pad." Even though it is a low warmth, I do wish there were an on/off switch to it instead of just unplugging in and out. Also a temperature control. But still, this is a very good product. I bought this for my cat Dina whom lives inside of a garage; don't worry, she has all the comforts of a home with heat, ect. She has a couch that she sleeps on and this heating pad is so much better than a human heating pad which can get extremely warm/hot. This pad here is a comfortable low setting and it will help keep Dina with a little extra warmth this winter.

Better than I expected so I bought another
Description of this product is accurate. Temp control awesome and so far so good on safety. I was worried about putting in my garage and leaving it on all the time for cold weather where one cat prefers to hang in box. She loves it and now we can't get her in the house. My old girl who lives on the couch inside is very thin and gets cold so this was a great solution. I don't think you're supposed to put it on a soft surface but we have had it in the dog bed she claimed for over two months. She has peed and threw up on it twice (grant me patience). Just washed mat with clean rag and windex. Tossed the zipped cloth cover in the washer and dryer no problem. I would definitely recommend. The heating pad, not the 19 year old cat .

My cat is OBSESSED
I have two cats, and I got one for each of them. One, wouldn't touch it (she has longer fur and weighs more, so she's already warm). The other (who is thinner and has shorter fur), absolutely obsessed, even in summer.I gave away the first one for someone's small dog, but the one I kept has held up for a couple years and my cat is still found on it pretty much every day. I have to unplug it some days because she'll sleep on it even during a heat wave - she seriously spends hours every day on it. Sometimes she pulls her actual bed over and uses it as a pillow while she's on her heat mat. She's so upset when I have to unplug it after she has surgery/a dental cleaning (because I can't trust her to be able to get up if she gets too warm when she's on anesthesia and pain meds), but the first day I DO turn it on, once she's off her meds, she spends the entire day on it.I'm really happy she has something to keep her warm in our Michigan winter, because she is alone at night and I used to worry about if she got too cold... now I only have to worry if the power goes out.The cord is really thick and sturdy. My cat has like two teeth, so she can't chew on cords anyway, so I have no idea how sturdy it is for cats who do like to chew. My other cat is a cord chewer, but she never used hers - and they live sepatately for medical reasons, so my other cat has no access to this one.The orange fabric cover comes off, so it should wash pretty well. So far I haven't had to wash it (though I do use a lint brush on it from time to time to remove hair), so I haven't taken the cover all the way off and can't comment on how the cover holds up in the wash.. but it has held up since I got it in Feb of 2020.So the big con (which I knew about when ordering so I'm not taking stars off for this) - mainly the temperature control, which is.... pretty much none. It's meant to be controlled by weight, so when she's not on it it's not really warm, and then it heats up when she's on it. I like that it doesn't stay constantly warm, but it would be nice to have some kind of control. The other thing is, it IS just a mat. There's absolutely no padding, and I think she would probably prefer if it was a bit softer/padded... but since it's on an old couch (nobody uses it except her anyway), it's not a big deal.I think there's probably better ones out there if you have a bigger budget, but this is a really decent heat mat and my cat is in love with it. Considering it has a 50/50 success rate with my cats (in terms of liking it), I think it's a good option to get if you're not sure if your cat or dog would like a heat mat. But if you DO know they like them, it may be worth it to spend a little more if you can afford it.I originally got them for $20 each, the 12x15 size. The size is perfect for her, she CAN curl up on it but she often likes to spread out and spin around occasionally so that all of her gets warm, which she would have to do regardless of size.Overall, yes I would buy it again, but I'd probably try to find one that's a little nicer (heat control and padding) first if it was in my budget.I would DEFINITELY get these if I was fostering several cats or had messy cats that may need it to be cleaned frequently, since cleaning does seem to be really easy with this one.

Comfy, soft, and works just as you'd hope for
Ever since we got the heating pad this has become our cat's spot, it's coordinate [0, 0, 0] in her universe. She sleeps there, she hangs out there, and upon occasion she gets up to go check on the rest of the world, always to return back to her spot. She's kind enough to let us humans poke our toes under it from time to time too, very cozy!Update 1.5 years later: it looks like the heating pad is dying after a year and half of continuous use. I find it often cold. It will come back on sometimes but it seems like it's not regulating temperature properly. I'm buying this one again because it was so beloved, so we'll see how long a second one lasts.Update 1 year 1 month later: our second purchase of this heating pad is dying now after 1 year and 1 month. So two data points now suggest this has a lifespan of about a year. We're now buying our third, our cat demands us to do so. If this pad was a subscription product for $20 a year it would be worth it, so that's the way I view it now.Update a year or so later again: I'm 5 stars on this all the way noew. I've now purchased 5 of these heating pads over many years. Two failed, lifespan is typically 1-2 years it seems, but the current one is doing great at well over a year old. Since they only cost as much as a bag of good coffee I don't think lifespan is an issue. One went as a gift to a persistently cold doggie with short hair, and another the cat was forced to donate to a bird she injured who's in recovery and can't fly for a while.
