OXO Good Grips Airtight POP Small Cereal Dispenser (2.5 Qt),2.5qt,2.5 Qt - Granola

I like plastic storage containers, and after a lot of trial and error I’m learning what the difference is between ones that do a good job and ones that do a great job. I’ve found OXO rarely lets me down. You pay a lot more for them but what you get is something that is well thought out and well made. And it seems like they have something for every purpose.WHAT IT ISIn this case I wanted a container that is roughly the size and shape of an average cereal box that holds about 20 ounces. The reason is that when I buy cereal at the membership clubs they usually come in two cello bags which are really awkward to store on my cereal shelf along with the prepackaged ones from the grocery stores. This one is the ideal size and shape, has an easy to grip handle and maybe the best design pop open pour top of any I’ve seen. It’s a strong clear non-flexible plastic that reveals the contents and has one feature that makes it stand out among all of the rest.THE FEATURE I LIKE MOSTWhat I like most isn’t really a features as much as a design that’s free if any latches or other things that can cause it to catch on other things in my cupboard. The top is just a press to fit rubber gasket with no latches at all. It doesn’t look like it would stay in place but it does. To use it you just press down on a teeter-totter type flap and the front end pops up just enough to smoothly pour almost any cereal, even mini shredded wheat. The design mean nothing will get stuck on the way out – no crevices to have to clean. When you press down on the flap it locks securely in place with a second rubber gasket.CLEANINGA cereal container doesn’t require a lot of cleaning but from time to time I would want to do more than wipe it with a damp paper towel. For those instances the flap slides off and every part is exposed to deep clean in the sink.YES OR NOThe reason I chose this one is that it is one of the few that fits exactly where a cereal box would in my cupboard. It’s simple and no hassle. They have a three-pak that saves a few dollars but I only really needed or wanted one. Do be careful, there are other sizes that look very similar, only one of them is 3.4 quart. I won’t ding them for this but it’s frustrating that OXO never listens to customers and they still refuse to give simple exact measurements for most of their products, insisting instead on referring to how many quarts it holds which in my opinion is useless – who can visualize the size of a container and if it will fit in a pantry or other place by how many quarts it holds, and who measures the contents of cereal boxes in quarts? Those rare times that a product page has any dimensions at all it is for the size of the outer box they use to send it to you. It’s amazing a company could be so out of tune with how their customers think. Despite that, I like this product.

My husband and I don’t eat cereal every day so I always had to “secure” the cereal bag so it wouldn’t get stale - these containers are GREAT for keeping it fresh! Nice looking and fit great on the shelf.

We have 3 of these and they are honestly so handy. It's large enough to hold a big box of cereal. The top comes off and is easy to separate to clean. Love all the OXO POP canisters too.

If you’re thinking about these but have price shell shock like I did, go for it. You won’t be disappointed. Good quality, seal, pour and easy to clean. Verified the bulk cereal bags fit.Sometimes you get what you pay for and cheap won’t work.

So before I purchased I looked to see if the containers were dishwasher safe, saw dishwasher safe in the description, but didn't read the entire line where it said gaskets only, you have to handwash the rest. Ok, so my fault, but I'm not dinging the product because they didn't say it wasn't fully dishwasher safe, because they did, but because it is not fully dishwasher safe. I have enough other handwashing, I don't want to add to it. These were for cat food and we have 4 cats, soooo... In any case, they are clear so you can see exactly what you are storing in them. They are the hard plastic, so I would avoid dropping or they might crack. There are 2 gaskets, one where the top meets the bottom, and one at the pour spout. They seem fine, not heavy, not thin, but I am returning so I didn't try to check to see if it was airtight. The spout generous and easy to open; I really liked that. All in all they seem quite nice, easy enough to handle, though I didn't put anything in them. I love most Oxo stuff, so I would have been happy to keep them except, well, you know why.

I absolutely love my OXO pop containers. They are a great addition to the pantry. They seal tightly, but are extremely easy to open. They look nice in the pantry, too! The cereal containers are a space-saver compared to the cereal boxes, and they pour much more easily than the plastic bags inside the boxes.

The plastic is quite strong. The lids are sturdy. In general it's definitely worth the money... which isn't a lot. Highly recommended.

UPDATE April 20, 2023…months later still great.Review for Oxo POP Medium Cereal Dispenser 3.2 L/3.4Qt for dry goods.$22.39 CADWe use to store cereal. Will fit approximately 780g, but as you can see in photos…it is more volume controlled versus weight; both of these containers contain 780g but one cereal is more “puffed” (right side) had to remove about 1 1/2 Cup to close lid. (There is one size up for LARGE container too if you need to go bigger)Personal suggestion *fill to top minus a little less below inside lid bottom lip of seal line, if you decide to overpack it will be hard to pour out and also will crush cereal in this case < upon opening (when lid depresses downwards to open container pour mouth).The mouth pour opening is albeit tricky to open at first; but once you find your groove, it is arthritis friendly and easy to grab from shelf and not heavy handed.Keeps cereal fresh about 2 1/2 - 3 weeks, perhaps longer ??? but this is based our own household consumption for dry goods. Pls note this is not completely airtight, but does it job for dry good storage purpose. (If you’re looking for longer food storage life, than ie best use a glass airtight canning jar)Best Oxo BPA safe containers (no container leaching smell - BPA safe and heat resistant silicone seal…we only use for dry foods so less minimal exposure, and we recommend to handwash in warm soapy water, we never put plastics in our dishwasher cause “hot” may still leach potential toxins from any type of plastics, so no idea how containers will hold up using dishwasher). Opening lid takes a bit of know how, but once you figure it… it seals tightly enough.Cleaning is also easy, but instructions are a must for disassembling.We always buy oxo pop containers for years now (even this new one)… Oxo makes great durable products. We haven’t had an issues ever; but always good to check the seal if you’re looking for longer freshness.

Primeiro: “Ele é lindoooo”Pensei muitoooo antes de comprar, devido ao preço “elevado”. Comprei e se pudesse só teria esses OXO em casa, além de lindos são de qualidade. Ja testei com cereal matinal, cabe um pacote grande e mantém crocantes por um bom tempo. Apaixonada pela beleza e qualidade do produto. Por enquanto ( após, meses de uso) vele o alto valor investido!!!! rsss
