Great OEM pad, the work great and are easy to change. My sanding pads wear out after a year or two, so I always keep at least one as a spare.

This appears to be what came on the sander originally. The number & symbols match & feels the same. Some catalog number items are a softer version; some harder. Don't have them to compare, but this compared precisely with the one I wore out (the velcro stopped sticking). I have done a lot of sanding with the original that came with the sander & with this. Good product; does the job.

Worked perfect on my Bosch orbital sander. Just like the OEM version without the high price tag! Has held up to a lot of sanding and I’m still on the first one. Worth every penny!

Great replacement pad for 5” orbital sanders. The pad that comes from the factory is pretty soft and not always the best for large flat surfaces. The increased stiffness of this hard pad helps keep more of the sanding disc in contact with flat surfaces.

I really don't use a lot of hook & loop things and didn't really know a whole lot about how velcro things work. But when my sandpaper wouldn't stay on, I knew I had to do something! It seems that the "hooks" are exactly that ... hooks. Over time, however, the tips break off and they no longer hook onto the loops on the back of the sandpaper. So, looking for the way to fix this I discovered the replacement pads for my random orbital sander. And also that they come in "hard" &"soft". So I bought one of each. Have only used the soft one so far but it certainly grabs the paper. So I learned a couple of things and got the perfect result.

I bought this hard Backing Pad and the "soft" one (ASIN B004BG5QXK) and they are the exact same hardness. They're both harder than the original one that came with the sander. So the description of this one is fine, but I'm not happy about the "soft" one.
