A very good, inexpensive, toner that actually works!
I love this product. Ofc it doesn’t smell good because it’s an actual good toner. This toner is promising and doesn’t strip your face of oils, it prepares your face for serums and moisturizers to go on without becoming bubbly or fizzy. This is a good product for anyone who struggles with oily, breakout prone skin. Also tightens large pores so that’s a plus!

Amazing product
I really love this product. It feels light on the skin. One thing that surprised me the most is that it helps block bad sweat odors, leaving my skin feeling clean and calm. It’s easy to use, gentle, and perfect for daily care, even if you have sensitive skin. After a few days, I noticed my pores looked smaller and my skin tone more even. The toner absorbs very fast. Overall, it’s simple, effective, and great for anyone who wants helps control odor too. I would definitely buy it again.

Effective & Affordable!
I have oily skin and this toner has become a staple in my routine. I primarily use it as a second-step cleanser after washing my face, and occasionally as a quick mask by applying it with cotton pads for a few minutes. It effectively removes any leftover impurities and excess oil without over-drying. The 16oz bottle is huge and very affordable—excellent value for money. I appreciate that it contains 100% natural witch hazel, but please note it also includes 14% Natural Grain Alcohol. You can definitely smell the alcohol when applying, but it doesn’t feel harsh on my skin. After use, my face feels fresh, clean, and never sticky or tight. It truly helps refine pores and control shine throughout the day. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a straightforward, effective, and budget-friendly toner!

Gentle, effective for oily skin, very affordable
I’ve been using the Deaconson Original Witch Hazel Toner for 2–3 years and really like it. All the ingredients are Yuka App approved, safe and clean, and the bottle is large and economical. I usually use it only when my face gets oily or I have a lot of breakouts. This toner is great for cleansing oily skin—it leaves my face feeling very clean without being harsh. I haven’t noticed a significant reduction in pimples, but I enjoy using it whenever my skin feels extra oily.

One of the best toners I've used. An alternative to Thayers.
UPDATE - 2.5 years later - July 2025 - Thayers has left the building I don't think I've ever bought another Thayers since. Amazon keeps having this bottle at sub $5 and I keep buying. They're stocked up. Take it when I travel, 100%. Every night, I don't care where I am. Had one bottle leak in airplane luggage, that's fine, there was more than enough to finish the trip and get back home. ;) I. Kid. You. Not.... I'm on the boardwalk a few days ago, talking to someone while we're looking at outside exercise equipment being set up. She asks me "how old are you". I truly don't know and never tell. Really. So then she says, "well I say that because from what you are talking about you come across as really knowledgeable, but you look young. I mean young-young." Yes. She said "young-young" :) :) :) lolololol :D I love it! ORIGINAL REVIEW: (Reviewed in the United States on November 11, 2022) I originally bought this because my Thayers toner ran out. I was in a local drugstore and this was all that was available, for around $7. I purchased it, used it, and was very surprised. It is sustainably made with certified organic ingredients and is as natural as can be. When it ran out the idea came to me to check Amazon and I was pleasantly surprised again, haha, that the price was very competitive. Sooooo, I've been buying it here ever since. That was a year ago :) Give it a try! You may like it. The scent is not overpowering and a little goes a long way. Be sure to use a quality cotton pad. I used to use cotton balls, however I didn't like the way some of them would leave little bits of cotton on the face afterward, so after trying numerous brands have stuck with "beauty 360 premium cotton rounds" and this toner ordered from Amazon. Used for just over a year now. Excellent, fresh skin. I regularly get compliments on my skin/face but it isn't just due to the toner. Wash your face twice a day, use a real wash cloth-- no hands or air-splashing like you see in commercials, use toner, drink water, cure your "combination" skin by kicking dairy and oily foods (the oil you eat comes out on your face), don't eat trash... simple things. Now, just so the skin stays fresh I will cycle this with Thayers in another year or so, but right now I have 5 bottles of this Dickinson's from Amazon sitting in the pantry. Whoopee!

I used to use toner blends that claim to have witch hazel in them, and decided to opt to use the real thing instead and I am not disappointed at all! It's kind on the skin, and it's consistency is not thick at all, so I can spray it easily with a sprayer. It has significantly reduced my outbreaks, and because of the hot weather and humidity here, my pores tend to be prone to infection. In my experience, this toner did wonders for my face, and I don't think I can substitute it with anything else now that I've seen just how good it is

I've been using this toner for a few months now and it has definitely become my first choice for toners. Yes, it does have a VERY strong scent of witch hazel but that's perhaps to be expected given the ingredients! In any case, it isn't an unpleasant smell and it does quickly fade. I've often found with some toners in the past that they irritate my skin and leave it red and prone to breakouts. That's why I had been using Simple toner for years as it was one of the few toners which my skin seemed to tolerate. However, I was looking to see if I could find a new toner which might prove better value for money as Simple toner can be a bit more expensive than a lot of others. That's how I came to try this toner as, although it might seem expensive at first glance, the bottle is very large so it does work out cheaper in the long run. I've found I actually prefer this toner above others as not only does my skin tolerate it, it seems to love it! It becomes really soft after applying the toner and doesn't feel dried out at all. My skin also looks clearer but who knows whether that's down to the toner or the cleanser or the moisturiser! In any case, I'd highly recommend giving this toner a go.

This stuff can be used for so many different reasons. It blocks odor, tightens skin, helps calm redness etc Personally I’ve used it on my armpits and it worked and also put it in my bodywash to reduce redness on my skin and that worked as well

Not too sure what is different about this and Thayers. I was using Thayers and using Dickinson's for a few weeks now. Developed red patchiness which went away when i switched to another toner. Probably not suitable for all skin types.
