These instruments are true to 1:12 scale, however, they are lacking in detail. It's still a good buy for the price. You cannot expect hand sculpted detail for mass produced plastic items. For the cost and what they are, I think you get a pretty good value. You can always repaint them and add the detail that is lacking, which is my current plan.

This is a fun set of musical instruments for dollhouse or miniature enthusiasts. You get a great variety of instruments, and the overall detail is nicely done. My personal favorite is the cello with the bow, which looks especially good on display, but the electric guitar is fun too and adds some personality to the group. My only real complaint is the piano. It runs small and does not quite feel true to 1:12 scale, which is a little disappointing since the piano is usually the visual centerpiece in a set like this. That said, it is not a deal breaker. For the price, this is an awesome set. You get a lot of pieces, the designs are charming, and most of the instruments photograph and display very well in a miniature scene. I would still recommend it, especially if you want variety without spending a lot.
