Studies in the Sermon on the Mount [Two Volume Set]

A great classic on the Sermon on the Mount.

This book is an excellent resource for studying the sermon on the Mount. It is timeless!

I purchased this book in 2013 for a fellowship. We only read short parts of the book.I'm reading it now in conjunction with a study of Matthew. It is a phenomenal, classic exposition of the Sermon on the Mount and it's showed me exactly what I need to do to be blessed; to be living in the fullness of the Holy Spirit. I highly recommend.

For several years, I used the single volume edition of "Studies in the Sermon on the Mount", by same author. I gave that copy to my pastor, and discovered this two-volume edition while shopping Amazon to replace my old copy. I purchased the two-volume copy by David Martyn Lloyd-Jones last week, and love it so much more than the smaller edition because of the greater depth into each topic, as well as a greater number of topics covered. I love this edition so much more, that I am now purchasing a second two-volume copy to surprise my pastor with next week. Thank you, Amazon, for providing this wonderful reference book.

Was very excited to receive this book very promptly after ordering it. So excited that I skipped dinner tonight to dive into the first chapter. Once I started reading I was captivated and enthralled, as Dr. ML Jones is a great expositor. But WAIT . . . . when I reached pages 15 to 18 they simply detached from the binding and fell into my lap. Mind you, I know how to carefully open a new book and gently open the cover pages to break it in. Do NOT buy this book if you think you are going to read all 330 plus pages and still have one complete two volume set. It is going to 'self-destruct' between your very fingers no matter how gentile you are in your reading. So DISAPPOINTED. . . . this book's binding quality will not allow it to become a 'multi-generational family treasure'. I would have gladly spent more $.$$ for better binding.

This is a fantastic book. One of my favorite resources for those who wish to better understand the Sermon on the Mount. Content-wise it deserves 5 stars. However, it is misleading to call this a 2 volume set. As far as I can tell, other than the cover image, this is identical to the other single volume paperback binding of Studies in the Sermon on the Mount. I loved the old hard back two volume set, and hoped that I would receive a similar paperback version in two separate volumes. This is not it.
