Excellent Rope, Keeps speed high, little more weight.
Was expecting it to feel heavier, but it still has a little heft. Great if you want to keep good speed and add a little work to the arms and shoulders, but if you want something that SERIOUSLY punishes the shoulders (at the cost of speed), get something heavier. I have a bit of experience jumping, this is a high quañity rope. I've got medium size hands, and it seemed to fit perfectly. People with longer than normal fingers or wider palms may find it a tad bit small. Excellent grip. It is a bit different than typical speed ropes, a little getting used to, but it can go fast, and you still have excellent controller for techniques like cross-overs, and still has incredible speed for double and triple unders. Cable is nice. One downside perhaps: it uses a loop over style to keeps cables in place. They do not come free easily which is what you want, the problem is if you want to use cables either smaller or larger than what it comes with, I'm not sure how secure it would be. The weights sit inside the handles nicely and DO NOT move around while jumping. It's taped kindof like a tennis racket, you can change it after it is worn by time. Overall, it is worth well more than you're paying for.

Great product - decent price
Bought this to step up my jump rope game, since my standard vinyl rope was wearing out. Weight in the handles makes it perfect for getting that added resistance while still getting in plenty of reps. The bearings in the handles are smooth, and the rope doesn’t tangle, making it easy to crank out 1000 reps in less than 7 minutes. Adjustable length makes it easy to get precise measurements. Handles and rope are quality materials, and I expect it to last a long time. Did not expect this level of quality for such a low price.

The heavier rope is actually harder to learn on
Edit: I think part of my problem is I need a longer rope than this one is. I am 6'2" and should have something closer to 10 feet. But I still use it (the thinner one) and am getting better. The handles and the rope are high quality, so I changed the star rating to four stars. Just wish the rope came longer to begin with. I bought this as a beginner in jumping rope. I wanted the heavier rope because everything I read says it will be easier to learn how to jump rope with a heavier rope because of the feedback that it gives. Well for starters, I am not sure which one is supposed to be the heavier rope. One of the ropes is the same thickness all the way through. I believe this one is the one that is supposed to be the lighter rope. The other rope is thinner at the top, nearer the handles, but then is thicker in the center section. I assumed this one was the heavier rope and hooked this one up. I couldn't get 5 skips in without tripping up on it. I put the other rope back on and have been using that one and getting better and am learning. I went back to the other rope just to see if, since I have gotten at my timing, it would work better. No go. Cant get 5 or maybe a few more jumps between tripping up on it. Not sure what the deal is, but if you were looking for a heavier rope to learn on, I dont know if this is the one you want. I have been using the lighter rope and I will say I am getting more and more jumps between trips with each workout, and I like the style and feel of the lighter rope. I just wish the heavy rope would have provided a better teaching tool to make improvements. Maybe its just me. IDK.

Does what it's designed to do.
I have been using this rope for about 2 weeks now with the goal of learning double unders. It is definitely a good rope for that purpose! The handles have a decent spin to them and the cables included are not so light that I cannot feel them at all. I will say that I don't feel any added difficulty with the little weights within the handles. They don't seem to tire me out any more than if I jump without them. I would recommend this rope or any other WOD Nation speed ropes for double unders, but I do not think the added handle weight is necessary. Also, check out SRS speed ropes, they look like a great product. If you're looking to simply learn how to jump rope for the first time, then I would recommend a beaded jump rope or a simple PVC rope.

I would not have believed it, but worth the cost!
I've always been skeptical about exercise equipment, and was more than a little hesitant to buy jump rope made of steel and bearings. However, I'm now sold on the durability and utility of this rope. It comes with an additional heavy rope, and a storage bag, so it's easy to stick in a pack or case. I keep this set out on the kitchen counter so I can jump for a few seconds each time I pass through the house. I don't have a specific routine or regimen, and I don't plan on getting into tricks or advanced stuff - this is solely for adding a bit of cardio throughout the day. That being said, I have a friend who tried it and was able to cross and do other workout tricks with no problem. The only thing they did not like was the additional rope sticking out from the handles, but that does not bother me at all. The bearings are surprisingly smooth and have not bound up in use. Setting the length was also easy.

Decent with a few caveats
This was my first jump rope and is very good quality. I like the ease of length adjustment and the ergonomic handles. I found the rope to be a little too light and kept getting twisted during side swings and crosses. I swapped it out for a different brand and not only found the crosses easier, but realized the handles on this one are way heavier. If you’re not doing any fancy stuff and want a little weight in the handles then this is a fine rope.

Great Addition to My Workouts!
I had been looking for a jump rope for several weeks when I found this one. Like you, I read reviews to help me make the decision on which one to buy. I received this jump rope about two weeks ago and I've been using it regularly in addition to my strength training and as a quick cardio session. It did take several adjustments until I got it to the perfect length for my height (5'3"). My fiance didn't cut the cable until it was just what I needed and used a couple of times. The cable is strong and the part that hits the ground has some sort of tubing for extra protection. The handles are sturdy, feel good in my hands and the weight is just right. The weights are removable, but I wasn't a fan of how it felt without them. It comes with a drawstring bag to carry with you and a second cable to switch out if necessary. I would definitely recommend this rope!

I'm not a pro, but this rope is.
I am terrible at jumping rope. This product isn't going to make me better overnight, but it is still a great rope. It comes with two cables that are super easy to swap and adjust for length. The weight in the handle is easily removed. There is a small baggie of replacement parts and ties included. This also comes with a convenient bag to store it in. I'm not a pro, but the design and build of this rope makes me feel like I am, so hopefully I stay motivated to keep working at it.
