The Roald Dahl Audio Collection: Includes Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, James and the Giant Peach, Fantastic Mr. Fox, The Enormous Crocodile, The Magic Finger

It made a 5 hour car journey pass by in the blink of an eye. My kids can't watch DVD's, read books or play on iPods during these journeys as it makes them sick, so this was a Godsend. Read by Roald Dahl himself, it kept a 43 year-old, a 40 year-old, a 7 year-old and a 6 year-old happy and smiling for hours. We don't make this journey that often, so it will all be fresh again next time!

Awesome! So hard to find anything read by the author, particularly Fantastic Mr Fox. The other tales were a real bonus...

Great yarns for children and adults alike and certainly worth the value. My grand daughter was bewitched and upset when the car journey came to an endf.

Took over three weeks to arrive. CD one only plays half way through Charlie and the Chocolate factory and then starts again. Whilst stories are read by the author, lack the music and drama of some of the other audio versions available. Overall disappointing.

We listened to this wonderful recording many many times on road trips with our kids and were delighted to give it to our younger niece and nephew. Highly recommended for both adults and kids!

I loved Roald Dahl books when I was a kid and wanted to start introducing my own kids to them. We spend a lot of time in the car, so this was a great way to do it. I jumped at the chance to buy this set because, not only does it include 5 stories which is a great bargain, but it was read by the author himself! Since I had never heard his voice before, I thought this would be really interesting and make the set more special in a way. I was not disappointed! I love hearing these stories in Dahl's own voice. My children do too. They are 7, 5, and 3 years old. We have listened to the CDs over and over again. I think Dahl does an excellent job with his readings. I don't find it confusing which story is on which CD although they are not labeled. 1--Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, 2--James and the Giant Peach, 3--Fantastic Mr. Fox, 4--The Enormous Crocodile and The Magic Finger. I believe there is about 5 hours of recording between all the CDs. I only wish the entire stories of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and James and the Giant Peach were included instead of the abridged versions. I just can't get enough! Highly recommended!

Recomiendo los CD ya que los cuentos son fabulosos, con el extra que están magníficamente leidos por el escritor, merece la pena tenerlos.

I was concerned that the collection of Real Dahl stories would be too juvenile for my granddaughter who was turning 7 but she was happy because she recognized some of the titles and was looking forward to listening to all of them in the car as she travels with her family.
